The Plaza is a community dedicated to learning about, and enjoying the works of Tolkien. It is built by the community and run by volunteers on donations from members. It is also one of the largest forums based around The Lord of the Rings and all of Tolkien's other works. Membership is free, and those that join can explore various avenues of the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, the Children of Húrin, and many other works through Lore discussions, creative writing, art, and Role Playing as well as a chance to make new friends with other fans through the community that is The Lord of the Rings Fanatics Plaza.
An international community of Tolkien fanatics gather in our discussion forums. Many are new to the books, many are decades-old fans, but all share a love for Middle Earth. Lore discussions, language questions, even biographical discussions of Tolkien himself await you within.
And if you are a creative spirit, stop by the Arts forum to share your poetry, fan fic, photographs or other art works with kindred spirits!

Ever expanding and evolving, the Library is host to articles explaining various aspects of Tolkien's works, as well as original art created by members to depict the Master's works as well.
The Children of Hurin has Come!
Anticipated for more than 3 decades, the last "Great Tale" has finally been published. Officially released in hardback on April 16th 2007, the paperback edition is now available as well. This is one of the last stories written by Tolkien himself with editorial work done by Christopher Tolkien. In celebration of this, the Plaza has launched a new forum, dedicated to this work. We are very excited about our opportunity to host several contests wherein the winner will receive a deluxe edition of the hardcover edition of The Children of Hurin. Three of these contests have already run, and another will be coming soon!
The LotR Plaza and Harper Collins Unite!
We are pleased to announce that starting with the publication of The Children of Hurin, Harper Collins have agreed to make available to the Plaza five copies of all new works by or about Tolkien and ME that are published by them.These are to be used for Plaza-wide competitions and awards.
Following on the earlier C of H books, Harper Collins have recently made available the new edition of Tolkien’s On Fairy Stories - edited by Verlyn Flieger and Douglas Anderson. So, come join the competitions and win a fabulous book prize.
