The World's Timeline During Tolkien's Life
When Tolkien died in September 2nd, 1973, he was 81 years old. Many events can
happen during the life of anyone, and his life was especially long, and during
an era of many great happenings.
Tolkien had a lot of influence from many of the World's Historical events.
For example, it is not a surprise that Tolkien’s battle scenes in his books
have the same tactics as those used during WWI.
The fantastic languages he created are all derived from
ancient and modern languages that he studied since he was young, and many names
are those from past literary works. No doubt that many of his own experiences
helped him along the way.
