As you wander about this great place, the Plaza, you will inevitably come across a variety of threads that require you to Role-Play a character.  But how does one begin to make up a character or know what things their character needs to survive in the RP world of the Plaza?

That’s what this thread is for.  If you have any questions about your chosen race don’t hesitate ask it and if I can not answer I will find you someone who can.  People of all types are welcome to work on their character development and biography here no matter what rank, race or plaza age you are at.

If anyone feels that they would like to assist others within this thread please state you interest here.

Can we all turn off our signatures please?  It just keeps the thread a bit neater, and with so much already going on here, it keeps things a little more simple.

Previous Threads

Link to Thread Two
Link to Thread Three

Some terms you will come across in threads.

IC – In-Character.  You have to play your plaza character in these threads.
OOC – Out of Character.  You do not have to RP in these threads.  They are often opinion or thought threads where the real you can post and answer the given topic.

RP – Role-Playing.  These are IC threads where you a dictating the movements of your character only, and your interactions with others.  These threads usually end up looking much like a story.
RPG - Role-Playing Game.  A roleplaying game is a game that you play where you create a fictional character that lives in your imagination and interacts with the imaginations of your friends.  One player is the Games Master who presents the environment, situations and people that  live in the fantasy setting.  You and your friends face the dangers and explore the mysteries that your Games Master sets before you. (RPG Description by Naith Liathant)
GM - Game Moderator/Game Master.  This is the person who is basically in charge of the thread.  They usually decide on the direction that the RPG is going in, what the weather is like, what terrain you are crossing and so forth.  Always look out for the posts of the GM, they will be a guide for your posting and keep the game rolling.

Windowcel - I’m sorry I haven’t gotten back to you yet, I work almost non-stop from Wednesday evenings to Saturday afternoons (20+ hours in 3 days! XD), and so I haven’t had a chance to get you yet.  I’ll be getting to you this afternoon, though, okay?

Ok Celosia, thanks for the feedback, *tries to think of more questions*, I think that you are sorted, unless anyone else has questions for you. I for one am stumped- your idea of your character is too well thought through! Anyway, on with the next!

Thanx Keleos!!  I’ve never played an RPG before so any help is good.  I never thought an elf could be anything but tall and fair skinned, like the movies so i assumed that was a give in. I picture her a lot like myself so I’ll have to say, 5’7" tall, fair skinned, I’ve got tattoos, personally but I think I’ll leave them out of my character.

I see her as a very young elf. Just entering adulthood. She’s painfully shy and a little naieve. She has parents who have encouraged her to explore the world, and maybe siblings, I kind of wanted her to be getting discouraged by someone. Like an older brother or something telling her she’ll never accomplish anything, or that her dreams of her future are silly.

I’m basing a lot of her personality on how I was when I was a young adult. I have always been terribly shy, but slowly getting better at it, and I was discouraged a lot, basically followed when everyone told me I couldn’t do something. So her happiness come from showing everyone wrong, being able to follow through on what she sets out to do.

She’s very interested in stories and poetry. She has an idea in her head of travelling around the world collecting tales and songs and somehow recording them for future generations. Like a folklorist.

LOL this is gonna take a long time to figure out

Celosia, I will add some more questions for you.

What do her weapons look like?  Are there any inscriptions upon the weapons and if so, what do they mean?  Has she had to kill many creatures or mortals with her weapons?  If she has had to kill someone, how did her first kill make her feel?  Is her sister older or younger than her?  What is her happiest memory?  What is her saddest memory?  Has she ever felt the call of the gulls, or felt like sailing to the Undying Lands?  Is there anything in particular that you character wants to do in her lifetime?

windowcel - I’m sorry, I meant to get back to you before now.  RL has ended up being crazy, not to mention the Plaza was down yesterday .  so, moving on . . . you definitely have the marks of a true Rohirrim - everyone thinks their horse is the best!

Has she found out anything at all about why her brother is missing since his disappearance, or is she just going on day by day?
How about the scar on her cheek - is it related to that situation in any way, or is it from something else?  How did she get it?
What was her childhood like?
