Hello there. Though I don’t visit the forum often, I would like to ask for a translation that I need as soon as possible. I looked in many web dictionaries but couldn’t find it. So do you know the Sindarin translation for "foreigner", "stranger" or something similar? Even "outer" would be sufficient. Thanks.

In Quenya, foreign (the adj.) is ettelŽa, with foreign lands as ettelŽ. A Noldorin name which seems to be related is Ethelion, Tolkienís translation of Peregrin (foreigner, stranger). It wouldnít change if adapted into Sindarin.
It seems to me that you have some knowledge of the Quenya, though, as ettelŽa was misread as ettelen in the Etymologies. So, Iíd recommend Ethelion.

The word etellen I found in the lexicon given in the end of the "The Lost Road " by Christopher Tolkien , but the writer wasn’t certain of the etymology and he hadn’t given the word in sindarin, only in quenya. Nevertheless, thanks for the help.  As for my knowledge in quenya, I had studied and used to speak this language a long time ago, but now I have forgotten the most of it so your help was valuable. Thanks again.
