does anyone know how many languages tolkein created?
i know about Quenya and Sindarin, then theres dwarvish and westron and the black speech, but are there many more?
since Tolkein used to be a professor of languages you’d think this would be one of his favourite parts of writing LOTR and the hobbit?

Firstly, the name of this guy was Tolkien, actually.
Secondly, an answer to your question is to be found in the Language FAQ.

I know that long before the books were set the hobbits had a language, but long before the books were set they had only a few words of it left in use. i.e mathon and of course, their original names for people, months and etc... Hope that helped, and good luck finding out all about the languages of middle earth!
