There’s a letter of Tolkien’s for sale Here - lots of personal stuff for a par. or two, but then Tolkien goes on to discuss runes in TH - eg he wished he’d used Dwarvish rune, not A-S - I think this might be of interest?

Very true - however, my purpose was not to show an expensive letter [I did that on another forum    ] - but to bring attention to the linguistic matter within the letter. [just takes a little reading; once you get past the price!]

Kadence - welcome to the Plaza, BTW.

*Morgil swoons at the thought of getting something penned by the master himself. Then Morgil visits the link and seed the price and goes into cardiac arrest!*

I would love to have anything in Tolkien’s own hand. But for that price I could just about double my sword/weapons collection. The linguistic point geordie made is interesting, though.
