Now, what exactly was the Watcher in the Water?I mean, was it a creature akin to the Balrog? Was it an Ainur? Well, ya know , like an evil spirit? Akin to Ungoliant perhaps? And was it in Sauron or Saruman’s employ? quote FoTR A Journey in the Dark, "...it had seized Frodo first among all the company"

We don’t know.
No.
There is no reason to think so, and any claim that it is such is complete speculation.
Maybe, maybe not. But evil spirit doesn’t mean evil Ainu.
I personally think so, but it relies on quite a few theories about the nature of Ungoliant and other things, and links that are not, and cannot be, established.
’Cannot people imagine things hostile to men and hobbits who prey on them without being in league with the Devil!’, to quote Tolkien in Letter 175.
There are such things such as coincidences. There are also such things as Frodo being behind all the others, and thus being closest to the water. I believe in both.
