LOTR Fanatics Plaza Khazad-dûm KD Kingdom Pages

D.A.R. is one of the largest and most successful organizations in Khazad-dûm. The initials stand for Dwarven Association of Recruitment and we are without a doubt the most active recruiting team on the plaza... but we dont stop there! D.A.R. is also the mother of the D.W.C (Dwarven Welcome Center) and the Newbie Cave (house for new dwarves). It is the responsibility of D.A.R. members to recruit new members for KD, answer questions from newbies, dwarves, and visitors from other kingdoms, and help everyone find their place in our lovely kingdom. No one could do it better!
On March 8, 2002, three ambitious dwarves, Handses, Hobbes, and Thor started a small recruiting group with the goal of increasing the population of Khazad-dûm by convincing new souls to join. They named the organization The Dwarven Association of Recruitment (D.A.R.). At that time, there were only 137 dwarves in the kingdom. The goal of Handses, Hobbes, Thor, and a handful of other members, was to get newbies to look past the rough dwarven stereotypes and see how much KD had to offer. One of the biggest challenges they faced was convincing female newbies to consider a race that would be, in many cases, their last choice. These are goals and challenges that the members of D.A.R. still have to face.
Today, D.A.R. is the longest running orginization in KD history. The dwarves now have over 1000 members (a full 800 more than there were at the beginning of D.A.R.!). KD is no longer one of the smallest or least attractive kingdoms on the plaza. In fact, many members of other races move to KD all the time. Due to its many brilliant and dedicated members, D.A.R. remains the best recruiting association on the plaza. Go to the Newbies and Introductions forum and you'll see why!
