HISTORY: At the end of December 2002, a little (but great) dwarf named Antoniel started the Dwarven Welcome Center. As a regular DAR member, she wasn't ok with just recruiting dwarves and then leaving them out on their own. She knew how a kingdom could seem intimidating to a newbie at first, so she wanted to help them settle in, make friends, and find activities they would like. She decided to make a place where new dwarves, newbies considering kd, and visitors from other kingdoms could bring their questions and find guidance. The first newbie who arrived was Loin Stealtharm. With the help of Antoniel he quickly learned his way around kd and became a great asset to the Dwarven Welcome Center. Antoniel appointed Loin to be the co-owner, and soon, other dwarves were getting involved as well.

TODAY: Today, many, many DWC-threads later, the Dwarven Welcome Center has helped countless newbies and visitors find their way around KD. Khazad-dum has grown to over 1000 dwarves, and the DWC is partly to thank for it (along with DAR and all the deticated dwarves making KD a wonderful place). The welcome center helps KD grow by making newbies feel at home so they never want to leave!

NOTES: DWC is a sub-orginazation of DAR run by Narsi and Oro. The 12 members of DAR are also responsible for answering all questions and greeting visitors in the DWC thread.
