Arele

Arele was born 15 minutes by reckoning of Mortal Timing after her twin brother Elnarsil Medaron Phairemo. The first biological daughter to her mother Aurëthil and father Dînairë Phairemo, Arele was born in the Grey Havens in II 1909, but grew up mostly in Mirkwood and Rivendell. She was named after her grandmother on her father's side, whose name was Árëlindalë. The name Arele means 'noble star' (ar=noble, ele=star) for she was born at the exact time of when the first star of the night could be seen from the grounds of Arda.
½ Teleri and ½ Sindar, she was one of the original members and leaders of the sea-forces, a force of the Rivendell Army, started by her adoptive grandmother Laebeth. Spending most of her childhood with her father and Cirdan the shipwright, Arele and in fact all her siblings came to love the call of the sea. Joined by her twin brother Elnarsil, Arele was desperately in love with the sea and could always be found somewhere near water or the Sea-Forces headquarters. Very family-oriented, Arele left the Havens with her parents and her siblings, where they made their way to Mirkwood. She had spent the majority of her youth amongst her mother's kin in Mirkwood where, like her brother Elnarsil she learnt her wood and archery skills. The Phairemo family moved to Mirkwood in order to help and protect Thranduil. It was while helping to organize the Host of Mirkwood as well as helping to alleviate the fears of the untrained peoples that Arele first made her way to Imladris. This was the first time that she met King Gil-galad. Although she had met Lord Elrond when she was much younger, she realized during this visit that her heart belonged in Rivendell and it became her desire to serve Elrond Peredhel. With her siblings, Arele moved to Imladris and lived there for three years. However, this was a difficult thing to do as her mother and father decided to stay in Mirkwood. Arele felt this split of her family greatly, but could only dwell on it in the still of the night. What with the forming of the Last Alliance of Men and Elves, Arele focused all her attentions on joining Elrond and King Gil-galad to help defeat Sauron and his forces. However, at the last minute she was chosen to stay in Imladris to care and protect those who were untrained and remained behind. While her siblings left to form the Last Alliance, Arele attempted to protect the home front. The Phairemo family was split for the first time, and would never be the same again. Although her mother fought under Prince Thrainduil, Arele's father fought with Oropher and died. Arele was always particularly close to her father and thus felt his death greatly. Arele left Rivendell and wandered Middle-Earth, lost and alone. She learnt much of herself during this time and when she returned to Mirkwood she announced to her mother she had taken as an after-name Dînatar, which means 'silent father.' (and included the prefix of 'Dîn' from her father's name.) She learnt from her mother that the Phairemo family was split across the Elven kingdoms, with her mother in Mirkwood and the majority of her siblings in Imladris. After spending some months with her mother, she made her way back to Rivendell, which she deemed to now be her home. While helping to rebuild the people of Imladris, Arele met and married Samthoniel, also known as Samu. He was a noble elf and warrior and together they adopted two daughters. A Gondorian child they named Anduniel and a Hobbit child they christened Elentaari, after the Valier of the Stars, Varda Elentari. For many years they were a happy family, with their daughters learning much of their own and their adopted culture. These years were among the happiest of Arele's life, for even though her beloved father had died, her mother now spent the majority of her time in Imladris with her children, helping her adoptive mother Laebeth to rule and run the Elven Army. After a time, Arele became the sole leader of the Sea-Forces when her brother Elnarsil was promoted to third General of the Army, after the Quest for Mithril. She enjoyed this greatly, but something tugged at her heartstrings. Making sure her children and her force was okay, Arele left to travel Eä and possibly pass over to the Undying Lands. This was among the most difficult decisions she had to make, and before doing so she divorced Samu, for she did not know how long she would be away or indeed if she would ever return. However, the split was amicable and to this day they remain great friends. Much happened in her travels, which she is reluctant to share. When she returned to Rivendell, Arele was a changed woman. In one fell swoop she discovered that most of her siblings had past West and that her mother was remarried to Laivindil, a member of the Sea-Forces. Arele had the most difficulty of all the Phairemo children accepting this marriage. However, she discovered soon after her return how happy he made her mother and now is one of the biggest supporters of the union. Yet her mother was not the only one to marry. Her ex Samu was married and her twin brother married a dear elf by the name of Rilómë, who became a great friend of Arele's. Upon her return, Arele founded the School of Imladris and is now the Principal. She can be found either in the School buildings, the Phairemo family home or with her sister-in-law Rilómë. Her heart belongs now to another, who she hopes will return soon to Imladris and to her.
