Endilion Endi by Ingrid Sava Endilion is a Noldor elf. He is both wise, fair, and just. Endilion was born at the great waters of Cuivienen. He was one of the first elves to see the light of the stars that Varda had painted the sky with, but even though Varda was the Vala that the elves gave most of their love to, Endilion always cherished the plants and the trees, and therefore his love and thoughts have always been with Yavanna Kementári. Endilion and the rest of the elves soon began their journey to the far west. Many of his kin got lost during the travel, but after much toil and despair, the elves reached their goal, and they departed into the West. Endilion stayed long in Valinor, and he wandered the fair gardens of Lórien. Yavanna tought him much of respect, love, caring and wisdom, and so he is an elf of Yavanna and the nature. Endilion and the Noldor elves stayed long in Valinor, and their joy was great. But when the Noldor began to depart from Valinor to travel to Arda, Endilion got weary, and he felt in his heart that his place was no longer in Valinor. When also Galadriel departed to Arda, Endilion went along with her and her four brothers and many others of the Noldor tribe. Endilion dwelt in the Western parts of Arda for very long, but after the destructuon of Beleriand in the War of Wrath, most of the Noldor returned to Valinor, but Endilion stayed in Middle Earth. He travelled east, to the forest of Lothlórien, and when Amroth died, Galadriel and Celeborn became rulers over Lothlórien. Endilion settled himself in Caras Galadhon, and after much time there, he became Lord of Lothlórien, and one of the closest elves to the royal couple of Lothlórien. Even though Endilion dwelt for many a year in Lothlórien and had much joy there, his heart was beginning to look West again. Soon Endilion departed from Lothlórien, with many blessings from the Queen Galadriel and the Galadhrim, he went west. But when Endilion got to the narrow lands of the north, he felt the light of the fair valley of Rivendell. He had heard many stories of this land, but never visited it himself. Endilion gave up his thoughts of Valinor, as his heart now longed to Imladris. In Imladris he dwelt among the elves there, and lived happily once again. After some time there, he was walking the fair gardens of Adab-nuin-Elin, and there he met his future wife Andi Vanariel. Nowadays in Rivendell, Endilion is an Elven High Lord. He sits on the high seats of the CofA, walks the valley of Imladris, watches over everything that grows in the earth, and spends time with his fellow elves, especially with Andi Vanariel. With the blessing of both Yavanna and Galadriel, Endilion will wander the face of Arda, bringing great joy wherever he goes. Back to the top Return to the front page of the book
