
01 January 2004 ~ The LotR Fanatics Plaza ushers in the year 2004 and celebrates its 2-year anniversary, with much celebration and rejoicing as the Plaza has, in fact, lasted that long.
03 January ~ JRR Tolkien celebrates his 112th birthday, or it is celebrated by the Plaza anyway *g*
03 January ~ Project Imladris begun by Lae. After much talk, it had been decided that Rivendell needed something to separate itself from all the other kingdoms; hence Project Imladris was born. In stages, the project collected all known information about Rivendell, mapped out where the numerous places in Rivvy would be, and is now at the stage of describing all of the places.
03 January ~ The Eleventh Edition of the Elven Tribune is released after much delay due to the coming of the Lórien kingdom and Andi's resignation as editor
06 January ~ The Hall of Unfinished Business II is opened by Mor Galad; its success in its first thread has decreed it be made a regular occurence in Rivvy
09 January ~ The seventh Survivor thread is opened, and at the reward challenge Menel once again defeats Cemen soundly, winning its second reward challenge in a row, a trip to Mirkwood.
16 January ~ After a long wait, the new Elven Tribune editors are announced: Tinw and Eary! Also, the new name for the newsletter was chosen, and the Elven tribune is now known as the Last Homely Herald, soundly defeating the other options.
19 January ~ Middle Earth Idol, headed by Neenuvar opens in Rivendell, allowing Rivvy elves to put forth their applications to become the one and only Middle Earth Idol
19 January ~ The Last Homely Herald is opened for business, and Tinw and Eary quickly recieve submissions and sign-ups from many Rivendell elves with a flair for the written word.
27 January ~ Survivor 8 is opened; due to RL occurances, both Leal and Mana resign from the game, leaving only Eithil as a head. The Menel tribe graciously celebrates its reward challenge win while Cemen contemplates how to best defeat Menel in the Immunity challenge.
