Lord of the Rings: Elven Kingdom of Rivendell


		The Imladris Debate Team Graceful are the Elves in all things! But, especially graceful are Elves when it comes to words. Histories forgotten by others are remembered and stored in their libraries. Tales of darkness, light, hope, and despair are to be found among them, each written or spoken in words so evocative that it tears at the soul. But, these are not the only ways that words may be used. Elves are not only skilled in the telling of tales, but also in argument, or debate. Elves are inextricably linked with debate, thanks to the Council of Elrond. For was it not here that the fate of the Ring was debated by all the peoples of Middle Earth? And was it not the counsel of Elrond, that the Ring should be destroyed, that was eventually followed? Debate is very Elvish! Do you enjoy arguing a point? Do you have strong views on subjects? Here, you will compete with all the Kingdoms on the Plaza, debating different topics of Tolkien lore. Along the way, you'll make some friends, pick up a thing or two about formal debate, and learn not a little about the lore of Tolkien's work!
