Inter-Kingdom Debate, Season I
A special note on Seasons One and Two: It appears the first two seasons of debate were very chaotic and quite different from three, four, and five. Instead of only four people per side, there was six. There appears to have been no word limit, or a limit on posting times (ie You must post within 30 hours), and the judge closed the debate as he or she saw fit. Also, the debates were judged on a scale of 100 instead of on a scale of twenty. However, each piece was not judged individually on a scale of 100, but all six pieces were judged on that scale (or the 100 points were split between the two teams. The rule and the practice of it seem slightly off, or the wording is bad.). In Season One the judge was not required to post the scores of the teams either, adding some confusion! The debate pieces were much smaller than they are currently and were only required to have one quote from a standard canon book. There were no semi-finals, or finals, the scores of the teams were added up after seven rounds, and the team with the highest score was the debate champion. The archives get sketchy the further back I go, so I doubt I will be able to find all of season two, and I doubt I will find much of season one. One final note, up to now the order in which I listed the teams indicated who was prop. and who was opp. (For instance if Rivvy was at MT, Rivvy was prop. and MT was opp.) That does not hold any longer, for it does not appear in the first two seasons that the visiting team was always given prop.
