The Misty Mountains

Forming the longest mountainrange in north-western Middle-earth, the Misty Mountains (called Hithaeglir in Sindarin tongue) run from it's most Northern peak Carn Dûm to the Methedras in the South, right above the Circle of Isengard. It's passes include the Pass of Caradhras, the Gap of Rohan and the High Pass. The latter was situated above Imladris. The entire eastern side of Rivendell's Valley was made of the Hithaeglir, it's slopes covered extensively in trees and grasses.
