The Leaders of the Entmoot |

 |
"The Entfolk of the Forest often convene Entmoots at the great occasions, to mark the changing of the seasons, or to share news and information, and of course the three greatest Entmoots on record were those connected to the loss of the Entwives, the Last March, and the eventual return of the Entwives...
All of these Entmoots (with one exception of course!) have been led by two individuals, reknown for their kindness and dignity - in short, Fangorn and his Laydee Fimbrethil; or as we like to call them "Treebeard" and "Wandlimb"."

Treebeard
He is the eldest of all living Ents, and some say he is the eldest living being in the world, too. Age however does matter little to us treefolk, except for the growing amount of stories that come with every turn of season. Treebeard has plenty of tales to tell indeed, more than anyone else, and he will, if asked to. His memory reaches far back to the time when our folk first came into being, since he is one of them, one of the First, probably the last one alive, walking the earth and not gone treeish.
In his younger days he used to roam the world. He visited places known and unknown to elf or men, many of them buried beneath the Sea now, washed away from the face of the earth forever. But if you wish to learn more, you should go and ask him himself – he almost loves telling a tale as much as he loves to hear one of you.
Treebeard played quite an important role on countless occasions throughout the history of Middle-earth (although most of these are not accounted for by the scholars of Elves or Men). Still it is true that without his encounter with two particular Hobbits the War of the Ring might have ended different from how it did. And without him we still might be searching the world for the Missing Ones…

The Laydee Fimbrethil
Joining the Eldest in heading the council of the Entmoot is Fimbrethil, the Lightfooted. Of her origins or age no stories are told – she prefers to keep them to herself. A tale she shares more freely is that of how she met Fangorn on one of his numerous voyages: they spotted each other while he was travelling through the elm-woods of Ossiriand and decided to continue the journey together, singing and laughing. They saw many a wonder of the old world, in forests and on plains, on mountains and hills, and even at the shores of the seas.
Long after the turn of time they settled down in the heart of the great forest of Eriador, of which only small patches are left now. But Wandlimb and her sisters and daughters grew restive in the denseness of the forest and eventually decided to set off to share their gardens with all creatures in the world – and not only with those in the woods. They got betrayed however, and their gardens destroyed, and for a long time the Entwives vanished from the earth. Only when Treebeard and the remainging of our kind set off for one last time, desperately trying to find the Missing Ones and bring them home, they finally did find them. With them Fangorn Forest turned into a place full of live again, and gladly welcoming visitors from all Middle-earth.

| "The exception to which Beaky refered to above, was the period when Finglas and Fladrif together led the Entmoot, in place of Treebeard and Fimbrethil"
