Kingdom Links

These are the special ranks that are awarded monthly by the rulers of our kingdoms. The number and types of SCRs vary from month to month. They are given for outstanding work in any field of the kingdom and the requirements have always been based on the need for people to be active and to take part and enjoy their time in the forest. Orginally the purposes of SCRs were described by Mo and his words can be read below;

And now lets introduce you to our SCRs

Neldoreth
Named the forest of Neldoreth, located in the northern and lesser part of Doriath, on the banks of the River Esgalduin this rank portrays a birch Entwife.
Nivrim & Nimbrethil
The forest of Nivrim was located north of the Aelin-uial and was the only part of the kingdom of Doriath to the west of the River Sirion.
Nimbrethil however was a birchwood that lay in the land of Arvernien, on the northern shore of the Bay of Balar.
Beechbone
This Ent is mentioned only once in 'Flotsam and Jetsam, The Two Towers', by the halfling Pippin. "Beechbone...a very tall handsome Ent". He was injured during the attack on Isengard during the War of the Ring. Known to have been set on fire, he was extinguished, and after time grew back new growth to hide the old.
Dimhold & Old Man Willow
Dimhold comes from Dimholt. The name means "Dark Wood". To travel from Dunharrow to the Paths of the Dead (as Aragorn and his companions did) one would have to pass through the deep, pine and fir-tree forest of Dimholt.
Old Man Willow is as we all know the rather troublesome Hourn to be found in the Old Forest under the eyes of Tom Bombadil...
Finglas & Region
Finglas also known as Leaflock was one of the three Ents who walked in the woods before the Darkness of Sauron. By the time of the War of the Ring, he had "grown sleepy almost tree-ish... he has taken to standing by himself half asleep all through the summer...Covered with leafy hair." Treebeard, The Two Towers.
When Finglas became a Ruler rank, the rank of Region was given out instead. Region is the forest on the banks of the River Esgalduin that formed the southern and greater part of Doriath.
Fladrif & Chet
Fladrif is another SCR that is no longer given out since it became a ruler rank. He was also known as Skinbark and was one of the Oldest Ents of Fangorn along with Treebeard and Finglas.
Chet is the Ent who lived in the Chetwood, a broad woodland lying to the north and east of Bree-hill. The village of Archet is found among the trees near its edge
Brethil
Named for the forest of Nimbrethil, this Entwife was formerly known as Nimbrethil, but when her forest was drowned in the loss of Beleriand she was submerged in grief for many years, finally emerging to live in Fangorn with the rest of the forest's residents, taking the name Brethil, since she was only a Birch Entwife.
Drúwaith
Drúwaith is an Ash Ent, who comes from the Drúwaith laur - the orginal homeland of the Púkel-men (Drúedain) found to the west of the River Isen.
Thôn-nu-fuin
The "Pine under the Nightshade" named himself after the forest he used to dwell in - Dorthonion, or Taur-nu-fuin, the "Forest under the Nightshade". The tall Pine Ent is said to have moved to Mirkwood after the destruction of Beleriand - obviously he feels at home in gloomy and dark woods.
Morwen
Morwen, Lady of Dor-Lómin, wife of Húrin and mother of Túrin and Niennor, "was dark-haired and tall, and for the light of her glance and the beauty of her face men called her Eledhwen, the Elven-fair; but she was somewhat stern of mood and proud." The Silmarillion, Narn i Hîn Húrin
Ghân-buri-ghân
Flat faced, dark eyed, wispy beared and grass skirted, Ghân was the chieftain of the Drúedain, or Drughu, the wild men who lived in Drúadan Forest. He and his men played an important role in the War of the Ring by leading the Rohirrim safely through the woods and towards besieged Minas Tirith.
Beorning
The Beornings were a group of Men who had the ability to skin-change into a bear. Their most famous ancestor was Beorn, who was involved in the Battle of the Five Armies, and of course in Bilbo's and the Dwarves' adventure.
Aredhel
Aredhel Ar-Feiniel, the White Lady of the Noldor. She got lost in Nan Elmoth and found by Eöl, who made her his wife. Many years later she escaped with their son Maeglin and returned to Gondolin. Eöl followed them and killed her while trying to poison his son.
Eöl
Eöl dwelled in the ancient forest of Nan Elmoth after he left Doriath. His title as Dark Elf results from his preference of night and shadows over day and sunlight.
