I Am New Here, How Do I Get Involved?
You should read the Fangorn Code of Conduct/FAQ to acquaint yourself with the specific rules and guidelines of the Kingdom of Fangorn. We encourage all Ents to actively participate in Fangorn. There is a debate team, a Newsletter (The Tree Voice), Squizzel Races, a riddle thread (entitled Forest Mysteries), a mixture of games, a Guild where Ents and non-Ent scholars can enjoy some leisurely debating, and much more! To join, simply post in the thread with your desire to do so. Make sure to read all the posts AND RULES in the activity thread to find out what is involved before you post.

Once you have gained 20 points, either by posting or by taking tests in the Knowledge Hall, visit the Promotion Center and join the
Kingdom of Fangorn!
Who Is In Charge?
Eru, the One, created the Plaza. Administrators (admins) watch over the Plaza Forums on Eru’s behalf. They police threads for Spam, good behavior, and make sure things run smoothly. Each Plaza kingdom has two rulers to govern over the subjects of their kingdom. They lead with a firm but kind disposition. Fangorn is ruled by Treebeard and Fimbrethil; positions currently held by Thom and Lilly.

Admins and Rulers take Spamming very seriously and they are aware of what goes on in the Plaza. To get a better idea of Spam and the consequences of Spamming, check out this site: Plaza No-no's.
How Important Are Points?
It is not quantity but quality that counts. Members tend to judge others by what they have to say and how it is said. If obtaining points
is of primary importance to you then do not Spam or you will you find you will lose points, and respect, as fast as you get them.
Where Do I ask Questions?
In the Greenhouse! The only dumb question is the one that never gets asked. To ask the Fangorn kingdom rulers about an idea or thread, please ask it in the Entmoot thread.
How do Ents Act?
Well, Ents generally do not act "hasty". We do not rush to judgment or act in an abrupt manner. Ents tend to speak with a mighty "Hoom" or "Harum" and we tend to be rather suspicious of outsiders. We often take long strides around Fangorn and we possess a deep love for nature; especially the forest and trees. How you behave is up to you but keep these character traits in mind as you become one with your "inner Ent."

Do I have to RP an Ent?
The Short Answer is No.
The longer answer is best expressed in the words of Oak Leaf;
"Basically Entfolk can be anything from an Ent to a Limb Lithe Tree and anything in between. An Ent can have mossy hair or leaves and branches. Entfolk can look quite human or they look like just Trees with faces. They can look like something somewhere between the two extremes. How you want your character to look is basically up to you. The more popular approach is to base your character off of your favourite tree. Generally Entfolk tend to be unhasty, but there are no hard and fast rules to Role Playing an Ent.
Moving to Fangorn from another kingdom can always be a challenge esspecially if you are very attached to an IC character you have played for 3 1/2 years (or more or less!). There is another option for Fangorn residents. You can be the same IC character, only you have taken up residence in the forest. This forest has been home to Dwarves, Istari, Elves, Men and Hobbits.
Fangorn forest is also home to magical beings such as Dryads and even a talking Thrush. You can be anything that wishes to live in the forest. Just think of the possibilities!"
Tips & Pointers
Hopefully the advice below on Posting and Plaza Life to help you get more acclimated here.
- Kingdom Forums are not chat-rooms. Keeping your posts Tolkien-/plazarelated and free of spam is definitely the way to go!
- Look at all the posts in a thread to get a good idea of the topic and what people are saying before diving in.
- When visiting other kingdoms, if you’re not sure how to act, then definitely post in that kingdom’s newbie forum first and ask questions! No one will ever fault you for that and will actually think better of you for it!
- There is a whole Forum dedicated to newbies here. There you can also check out our thread in the Newbies Forum, entitled, "Join the Bark Side" or something similar for even more advice
