bullet Topic: >Lothlorien welcomes you, mellon!

Painting by Alan Lee, ruined by Leanan Sidhe

"When his eyes in turn were uncovered, Frodo looked up and caught his breath. They were standing in an open space. To the left stood a great mound, covered with a sward of grass as green as Springtime in the Elder Days. Upon it, as a double crown, grew two circles of trees: the outer had bark of snowy white, and were leafless but beautiful in their shapely nakedness; the inner were mallorn-trees of great height, still arrayed in pale gold. High amid the branches of a towering tree that stood in the centre of all there gleamed a white flet. At the feet of the trees, and all about the green hillsides the grass was studded with small golden flowers shaped like stars. Among them, nodding on slender stalks, were other flowers, white and palest green: they glimmered as a mist between the rich hue of the grass. Over all the sky was blue, and the sun of afternoon glowed upon the hill and cast long green shadows beneath the trees.
’Behold! You are come to Cerin Amroth,’ said Haldir. ’For this is the heart of the ancient realm as it was long ago, and here is the mound of Amroth, where in happier days his high house was built. Here ever bloom the winter flowers in the unfading grass: the yellow elanor, and the pale niphredil. Here we will stay awhile, and come to the city of the Galadhrim at dusk.’"
~ The Lord of the Rings, the Fellowship of the Ring; Book 2, Chapter 6 ~ Lothlórien

Welcome to fair Lothlórien, wanderer, and to the fairest place of all the forest; Cerin Amroth. Amidst the Niphredil and Elanor, and the double crown of white and gold trees stands the high mallorn that once held Amroth’s home. Now his talan is momentarily the home of several elven maidens and lads, ready to welcome you into the Golden Wood and answer any question you might have. Come, climb the hithlain rope ladder that leads up into the mallorn, do not fear the height! You are welcome here.

The cookies! The cookies! I cannot resist...*drools*

millerir - 50 points is nothing, believe me. You'll make it up in no time, once you jump into the Kingdoms - and if you need any help in that regard, just ask. In the last 6 months I left Lorien for Mordor, then moved to Minas Tirith for a day or two, then back to Mordor, then to Lothlorien, then back to Mordor (again) - and I'm coming back here (very) soon. So add all that up, and a name change and back again while I was in MT, and there's a few hundred! Some might argue that I can spare them anyway, but hey - easy come, easy go! beam

Oooo Cookies! *Is drawn to the yummy cookie smell* Thank you both! My actual journy doesn't start until the second week of June, so right now I'm 'scouting' and planning things. (Yes, I do perhaps take this idea a bit too seriously...) So, I have a question: As I plan my itinerary, where would you suggest that I begin? What theads would be good to start out in?

*wanders in and pokes the elfies...just for old times sake* Did I smell cookies? Greetings Loriel, good luck with whichever Kingdom you choose. Psst....go to the Gardens of Lothlorien, they're pretty. Just remember to take bread for the geese as they get tetchy.

*Throws a piece of eight and a barrel of rum at Captain Jack*

Nienna...that face and that name...spooks me every time..lol. Looking good though hun. forgive me for wandering through my old haunts...just reminiscing, I must be getting old. *grabs a cookie and legs it*...not that old. beam

Nini - LOL Bathing!? Interesting picture...*g*

Loriel - Mae tollen (welcome)! Assuming you know your way around the plaza, you probably don't need to visit the Elfling Talan (for Newbies). But as Karlia suggested, there are a few other places you can jump right in (click on links for--->): the Gardens, the Lawn of Lorien, and the Lorien Hollow (pub). We'll be keeping an eye out for you!

KArLiA - *catches piece of eight, finds it's chocolate on inside, eats, catches barrel of rum, grins piratically* Reminiscing, huh? Old, huh? You know where you belong...*grins roguishly* Come baaaack! Come baaaaaaaack!! Saucy%20wink

Nieriel ~ thankies! *g*

Loriel ~ ahh, you'll stop planning immediately when you'll see how puurfect this kingdom is. *g* Anyway, if you like RP-ing, I'd suggest the Hollow, the Gardens, the Lawn, perhaps the Healing houses if you're sick... lol. If you're a Lore-ish type of person, there's Drill and Nimrodel's Glade of Riddles. Anyhow, Elves and visitors hang around these places most of the time, and I'm sure you'll have tons of fun in Lorien! Beware of the rum, though...

Kala LOL so true. And believe me ~ every time I stumble upon my post I think: "Since when is Ecaps posting in silver?!" *G* Don't apologize hun, you'll always be welcomed here.kiss *drags back*

btw. did somebody say "rum"? :P
