(banner made by Morgray)

’When maybe a thousand years had passed, and the first shadow had fallen on Greenwood the Great, the Istari or Wizards appeared in Middle-earth. It was afterwards said that they came out of the Far West and were messengers sent to contest the power of Sauron, and to unite all those who had the will to resist him; but they were forbidden to match his power with power, or to seek to dominate Elves or men by force and fear.’

I have been feeling a strange sort of pull towards Isengard these past few days; though, I imagine it's much different from what it was when I was last there.

While I'm trying to make up my mind, could you perhaps tell me what makes Isengard different from the other kingdoms?

First of all Faldras - you have a choice to RP both evil and good character as you see fit. I know you are aware of that since you were here before I got my hat on. *g* We have some of most dedicated members,  a fair community which sticks together in all times, we hold all of our members as equal but there are times when one has to do things to prove himself to be worthy of the wizard mantle. Being a Istari isn`t an easy life, as we must be cautious how to RP in other kingdoms because of the Istaquenta and how the rules of magic apply to us among the free people of Middle-earth.
>>>
The Istaquenta <<< Check it out, you will find some interesting choices for your character as we already have several RPG`s to involve deep magic use...and there is still more to come. Thumbs%20Up

Faldras ~ Come back, come back, the hat is calling you! Let the old wizzie awake...

Wait, you don't want a song? Oh, ok then...

Not many of those star wars - building a rocketship type thing anymore. We have one semi-cannon RPG
Something Blue (Undying Lands subforum RPG). in which there will be magic use. One cannon RPGs that prefers elven characters The Flight of the Noldor (Undying Lands subforum RPG) but needs absolute cannon if you join as an istar. Rooms of Orthnac, you know, you can free-RP. One race for istari, and one RPG coming up with will allow use of Magic.

*Sigh*

I'm plotting one that I hope will actually *work.* Maybe one of those old silly-serious ones. But that's still a personal plot. Have any ideas?

Funny you should say that Faldras, I thought the same as you a while back. But we've changed a few rules around now. I think just about every RP has to follow the rules put forth by the Istaquenta. This stops wizzies from being able to god mod or be extremely cheap in their abilities.
I actually follow the Istaquenta even if the rules say I don't have to. I helps make my character more unique.
Also, seeing as how you are a minion currently, Isengard is much better for you. You see, we let our Istari take showersNod so you can finally clean all that soot off of your body!

Showers, you say? Not a requirement, I hope. *g*

I'm not much for historical RPGs, but seeing the word 'd20' makes me smile. And Something Blue looks interesting. I nearly opened a Blue Wizards RPG once; it will be interesting to see the direction it goes and how it compares to what I had in mind.

I guess I wouldn't have to join Isengard to be in those RPGs, but nevertheless the wizard in me is crying out. *digs hat out of the closet and brushes dust off it*

Greetings, Idhrenohtar! I`m glad to see you wearing that pointed hat, and you sure have a nice beard. Nod First of all, do check the Istaquenta (picture link, just under the banner) and choose your Vala association and calculate your magic points. We have several RPG`s running and there will be more soon. Regarding the lore, it`s not something which we require by any standards, we only want you to have fun in Isengard and wear your hat with pride.

Hey I think that we have to try and draw the attention of new plaza members here.

The young wizzie looks around confused in the thread for getting new members. He was thinking that they were trying to draw in the attention of younger ones to grow the population of Isengard but he only seems to be seeing old faces. Where are all the young members going.

We need to blow out some of them new soul candles and then kindle them into one of us

He then ponders on the statement and thinks to himself "Oh what the greed of a wizard can bring about"

A tall white candle with a flame that burned strongly entered the scene. The flame whipped angrily in the nonexistant wind.
"What is this I hear?," the candle said loudly with a mouth no candle has. "Who wants to blow out some of them new soul candles? I strongly object to that! Some wizard better be careful or it might end with him getting burned. A statement like that can draw attention not intended."

The white candle, pure as newfallen snow, looked at the uruk with large innocent eyes. The dark uruk and the white candle looked like each others opposites. She took one step back when the uruk made a horrible grimace.
"A black hat?", she repeated slowly. "I'm not so sure it would go well with my complexion."

Well, what about a red one? the uruk asked, Red as rust, not ... not... blood. Apparently it was very difficult for the creature to say "no" and "blood" in the same breath. And the hat would protect your complexion. If there was a greedy look in the uruk's eyes, well, that was normal. Uruks were greedy creatures.
