Angdring - Welcome to the Plaza.
 We don't host discussions about the merits of one religion over another. We don't host discussions bashing one religion or its followers. However, we do host discussions where participants discussion religion in the context of Middle Earth and the Lord of the Rings. For example, we've had discussions on the Plaza about whether religion is absent in Middle Earth (>Link <). We allow discussions about the LOTR and the Bible (>Link<). in our lore sections, we've had discussions about the LOTR and Greek mythology, LOTR and Norse mythology, etc. I hope that helps. |

Can someone tell me, where I can find rules for the forums concerning religion in our posts. I see remarks about religion, and I'm wondering how far this can be taken. I heard there were rules somewhere.?

Trianna - We don't typically delete accounts. Occasionally we have deleted accounts for some really egregious actions, but that's rare. If someone who was inactive for a long time wants to return to the Plaza, he or she can contact the admins at admins@lotrplaza.com.

Once you've uploaded it to an image hosting service (photobucket, image shack, flickr, etc.) just use the following code to insert the image in your post:

No, I was wondering about actively posting in two different threads at the same time. So from your example, John is stll posting in the pub while that adventure is happening. That adventure is just happening...say two days after he left the pub. Sorry if I'm not making sense, that tends to happen a lot.

Suppose you are RPing as John Doe in The Black Bottle in Umbar. You want to leave the Black Bottle and RP in another thread in Umbar. You're asking if that's allowed or annoying or something like that? If yes, there shouldn't be a problem. Instead, you can turn it into an interesting RP opportunity for others as well. Say you're in a pub and you want to leave, you can either be vague to the company you're drinking with and say other adventures are calling you. Or you could say you find an interesting item, for instance a coin lying on the ground and say to your company you've seen this before and will ask someone about it. If others want to join you, they can follow you to a different thread, starting a new adventure with you. Of course, you can always specify things in the OOC thread if necessary. |

This is more of a curiosity question than anything else, but I've had this idea for a while now and was wondering if I could use it. (And no, this isn't going to be nearly as impressive as it sounds.
)Say I'm RPing in one thread, but I also want to RP in another with the same character. Can I say in the second thread that I left the first location, even if I'm still posting there? I was just wondering if that was proper form, and if I could do that without annoying people. Thanks. |

It was six years ago, I actually did manage to find the record of my old account, but have no way to reactivate since I no longer have that email. Maybe I will see if I can re-activate, I seem to remember having quite alot of points...

First and foremost: welcome back! If you still remember any details about your old account, please get in touch with the Admins. You can reach them at admins@lotrplaza.com They will help you sort out your account details. Secondly, items and houses are down at the moment but rest assured that they will be back eventually. The cause of most of this goes back a while when the Plaza was hit by an SQL injection attack. As with everything, patience is a virtue. The Kingdoms have been gone...and not gone. The Kingdoms as you knew them were replaced by Regions, each hacing a couple of different locations. This was done because membership was spread pretty thinly across the Kingdoms and a lot of Kingdoms were starting to offer the same activities. To inspire a renewed sense of identity, a different (Regional) set-up was accepted. The Kingdoms are not gone since they are all part of a Region. I hope this answers your questions. Hello everyone! I was here a long time ago (a looong time ago) and it seems that EVERYTHING changed up, so now I'm a little lost newbie again! I have a few questions though
What are credits used for now? I seem to remember that you used to be able to get items with them, but I don't see that feature anymore, so I was just wondering.
Where did everything go?!?! Whither the houses? And the kingdoms! I'm a little confused...

Trianna - I think that's a problem with your computer. I opened it using Firefox, but I don't get that error message.  Is it just that particular thread where you get the error message? I am generally a fan of Might & Magic games and such but new to this kind of things. We used to have a giant Newbie FAQ thread, but that's gone away.
You can find the rules for each forum or Region in the header for that section. If you're ever in doubt about a post or a thread, you can always contact an Admin or a Ruler or Maia via Private Message. |

Triana - If you want to create a thread in a Region, it's a good idea to ask the Rulers first. You could open a thread in the Books forum or Out of Middle Earth. However, I wouldn't open two similar threads in two forums. I wouldn't just ask people what is your favorite elf poem. I would try to make it meaningful by explaining why I liked a particular poem. Having analysis of why the poem appeals to you will elevate the discussion from "Oh I like Bilbo's poem" to something much more thoughtful and interesting. I hate to call out stupid question, but its basically what the words role-playing mean...you play the role of a character. Since this is a tolkien forum, you play the role of a character in middle earth. If you've ever seen a video game ad, you've seen roleplaying. Its not a difficult concept. I think if you went and read the roleplaying fora then you'd get the drift better than I or anyone could explain it. I hope you join us.

I have a really old account on here and I am keen to reactivate it, but of course I can't remember the password. Not sure if it is the browser I am using, but I can't see the button down the bottom to reset the password (it mentions the reset button in the FAQ) but not sure if that is still an option. I tried to use the "contact us" button down the bottom, but it keeps redirecting me to a "page cannot be found" =) |
