The story of Canemacar Vorondamines
anemacar, meaning Valorous Swordsman, was born in October
6, 3015 T.A. in a small nomadic encampment of Dunedain. His father, Tuofirë,
or Strength of Mortal Men, fought in the War of the Ring and died in the assault
on the Black Gate of Mordor. The family heirloom was then taken into the care
of the Dunedain, to be given to Cane when he joined the Hyandaner in accordance
with Tuofirë's will.
ane was trained in the arts of war from an early age
by his father until his death. Cane’s tutelage was then continued under
the captain of the guard in the town of Pelargir, a small village to the south
of Minas Tirith. For this is were he and his mother settled after the War. When
he became old enough, Cane joined the town guard and helped defend Pelargir against
thieves and murderers. Sadly, Cane's mother passed away from illness a year later.
ane first fought for his life when he was 17.A routine search of the nearby
countryside became not so routine when Cane stumbled upon the hideout of
the band of thieves that had recently begun to plague Pelargir. Luckily,
the only
inhabitant was a sentry left behind to guard the place while the rest of
the gang raided nearby farms. Cane raised his spear as the thief drew a short
sword
and charged at the youth. Cane stabbed at the thief, but missed as the thief
darted to the left, while knocking the spear to the right, leaving Cane open
to attack. Acting quickly, Cane dropped the spear, leaped backwards and drew
his long sword in one fluid motion. The thief, lacking any military training
whatsoever, lunged. Reckless in his anger, the thief thought only of killing
this young whelp who had caught him unaware in his guard duties, didn't see
the sword until it was too late. The thief impaled himself on the end of
Cane's sword
screaming in agony.
fter Cane had cleaned and put away his blade, he left
the hideout in search of the rest of the town guard. As he neared town,
Cane saw
that the band of thieves had ambushed the guard and had killed all of them.
A the thieves spotted him, Cane drew his sword and, determined to avenge
his fallen
comrades, charged the thieves. He had taken but a few stepswhen he was knocked
unconscious by a blow from a shovel to the side of his head. Much later
he awoke in an abandoned campsite. After looking around for a moment, Cane
spotted
a note
next to him. After reading it a few times, Cane understood what had happened.
After the thieves had subdued Cane a ranger had come by and drove the vagabonds
off. After caring for his wounds, the ranger had left on the mission that had
brought him to those parts. With sudden resolve, Cane stood up and packed his
merger belongings.
e was going to Minas Tirith. There was nothing left for him
in Pelargir. He would become a ranger and defend the people of Gondor.
