The story of Ibiralian

here was in the time of King Aragorn Elessar a man of the White City named Thelimor. In his youth he was not content to dwell in peace in the city, but travelled, and it so happened that in his journeys he came to the land of Rohan. He met there a woman, Éorelle, and took her to be his wife. Then he took her back to the city which bore him, and thought to be settled there and remain until the end of his days. In the third year of their time in Minas Tirith, there came unto them a daughter, whom they gave the name Ibiralian. The child grew, and there came into the heart of Éorelle a desire for her daughter to know her homeland. So in the fourth year of Ibiralian's life, they journeyed back to the land of Rohan, and dwelt there for a time. Ibiralian grew to know the ways of the Rohirrim, for Éorelle was a rider of the Mark, and taught to her the care and riding of horses. But the joy was not to last, for on one winter night when Ibiralian was only eight, Éorelle fell ill, and was dead before the light of morning. And Ibiralian sensed a change in her father, a loss of any joy which she had before seen in him. He brought her back to the White City, and there, two years to the day after the death of his wife, he called Ibiralian to his side as he lay ill.
ali.” said he, for so was the affectionate name which her mother had given her, “You have within you the ability to become great. Fulfill this greatness.” He then gave to her keeping a sword, given him by his father, from whom he had long been estranged, and bade her take it to one Theltemir of the Rangers, for by this he would know her, and take her into his care. Thus Thelimor died. So Ibiralian did as he had spoken, and found Theltimir of whom he had spoken. Theltimir indeed took his son's daughter into his keeping, and taught her a great many of the ways of the Rangers. And when Ibiralian reached her seventeenth year, she enlisted to become one of the Rangers, choosing the Cúner as her division. None before in her family had been of this division, but under the careful and kind supervision of Acabar and Aralomiël, who comforted her when Theltimir went at last to be with his fathers, she is now continuing her training as a Ranger and hopes to become a dedicated member of the Cúner division.
