The characters in Minas Tirith

The story of Anna Greenleaf.

By Chris Achilleos

orn in Rivendell, into a noble family, Anna Greenleaf is the only daughter of Elenaina and Laurelas.
Laurelas first came to Rivendell as a messenger from the court of his uncle, King Thranduil, in Mirkwood. During his stay, he was waited upon by the beautiful Elenaina, who was of the lineage of Glorfindel and Elrohir. Laurelas had always been shunned in Mirkwood, because of the fact that he had half Gondorian blood, coming from his father Arnach's side.
Rivendell, and in particular Elenaina, welcomed him with open arms, and before long their first child was on its way.

Anna grew up, she shunned the geneaology meetings and tea parties of the prissy Elvish girls, and went out every day on the archery range instead. She also rode her horse for miles along the Bruinen, and got as far as the Shire, stopping for a chat with any hobbits that were out and about and keen for the knowledge of the outside world that Anna could provide them with.
As soon as Anna was old enough, her mother Elenaina brought her along on a trip to Minas Tirith. The walled city fascinated Anna, and she knew it was in her destiny to return here someday. After many years of happiness in Rivendell, Anna started to become restless. Other Elves were leaving for battle, and she longed to go with them. Finally she found a group of hobbits, led by Flora, who were on a mission to return peace to Middle-earth. Anna joined them, and met many friends along the way, including Huan, who she would later marry.
Elwing was there too, soon-to-be Princess of Ithilien, and the future leader of hobbits Pippeness. The quest took them to the caverns of Moria, where Anna saved Huan from a Balrog, and where he first started to show signs of interest in her.

hen Anna returned to Rivendell, there was an election in progress to vote in a new council member. Among those running for the position alongside Anna were Mormegil, and Pip of Rivendell, who ended up getting the position. Mormegil then deserted his Elven heritage and moved to Gondor, where he became King.
Later on, when Anna had returned to Gondor with Huan, he proposed to her and they got married in the Shire, where they had first met. After a honeymoon in Lothlorien, they returned to Minas Tirith, and have since lived in the affluent 6th circle, in a house originally built for Peregrin Took and his family on their yearly visits to Minas Tirith.
The ceiling has been altered to suit normal height, but the round windows and doors have been retained, due to their unique, appealing style.
Because of Huan's position as Captain of the Rangers, the couple also has a pretty cottage in the First Circle, just across the road from the Rangers Headquarters.
Anna became 1st Rider of the Elite Rangers, after Aska's unexpected departure to Mordor, and brought the horse from her childhood, Liltaruva, to Minas Tirith ready for battle.
The Riders division filled quickly with Anna's recruiting skills, accompanied by the Rangers' natural love for animals. Anna's special friend Treyan Andune became 2nd Rider, to Anna's delight. Trey shares Anna's half-Elven background.
After several years of living together, Anna and Huan decided to start a family. They had twins, a boy and a girl, and named them Lirulin and Veronwe. The girl was named after the nickname of the great Varda, Queen of the Stars, and the boy after the Elf Voronwe, 'The Steadfast', who was the only mariner to survive from the seven ships sent into the West after the Nirnaeth Arnoediad.
