The Bard's Tale can be anywhere. He may sing you
an ode within the woods on a clear
spring night or recite a poem about some
forgotten piece of history
while sitting beside the
hearth in
a crowded Pub. Wherever he is, it is where
words of beauty and tales of lore
are
intermixed...
history set to music.... knowledge
and wisdom
in the form of prose.

'Gondor! Gondor!' cried Aragorn. 'Would
that I looked on you again in happier hour! Not
yet does
my road lie southward
to your bright streams.
Gondor! Gondor, between the Mountains and the Sea!
West Wind blew there; the light upon the Silver Tree
Fell like bright rain in gardens of the Kings of old.
O proud walls! White Towers! O winged crown and throne of gold!
O Gondor, Gondor! Shall Men behold the Silver Tree,
Or West Wind blow again between the Mountains and the Sea?
Now let us go!' he said, drawing his eyes away from the South,
and looking out
west and north
to the way that he must tread.
(The Fellowship of the Ring, The Riders of Rohan)
Even Aragorn himself was moved to song at a
time of heartfelt emotion.

Constancy
Our Kingdom is changing, growing, building -
Every day there’s something new -
Shops to visit, homes to enter
Games to play and jobs to do.
In numbers can we think of Gondor
And the city where we dwell:
Seven levels of Minas Tirith
Six divisions fighting well.
Five Kings have worn the Elendilmir
With three Queens standing by their side.
And still the Kingdom grows and prospers,
Each new face a source of pride.
The seasons pass - some faces, too
And everything is not the same.
Those who came when things were new here
Know that this is not a shame.
But rather it’s the nat’ral
order
And a sign that all is fine.
Minas Tirith flour’shing ever
And bettering with age, like wine.
Who can see into the future?
Who can tell what time will bring?
Will they know us when we’re gone?
Is it of our deeds they’ll sing?
Though I do not claim that power
I can say with certainty
That we who build these seven levels
Will not soon forgotten be.
-The longer I am a member of this Kingdom, the more
aware I become of the natural progression of things.
As I approach my one
year anniversary, I thought
it fitting to commemorate the growth and change all around
us
and to reflect
on our place within it.
