The characters in Minas Tirith

The story of Narsil Anduril.

By Artist Unknown

ong ago, in a wood close to a little village up in the north, lived a little girl called Naran, who was raised in the little orphanage called The Troublemaker Orphanage of Esgaroth, or TTOOE for short.
Every day, Naran would sit in front of the window and wonder what the world outside was like. She would tell to whoever would listen what she thought was outside of the orphanage, since they weren't allowed outside. The orphanage was for the troublemakers who the other town orphanage would not take, and as Naran was a very curious little girl she would often go outside, into the nearby forest, which made the Mistress go wildly mad. Then one day a girl named Emily arrived, and became very interested in Naran’s thoughts.

hen Naran turned 13, she decided to do what she and Emily had planned since ever they became friends. They tied all of the blankets they could find with the extra clothes they had and made a big rope. Emily, who would stay at the orphanage and cover up for Naran, held the blanket rope and Naran climbed down. As she walked, she discovered what she was always dreaming about. It was like walking into her dream. She would visit many new buildings and would travel with foreign ppl that she found on the road. And she did make new friends around the villages as she travelled.

hen, one rainy day when she was 14, she didn’t pay much attention to where she was going. She was exhausted, and just let her feet drag her anywhere. Suddenly, without realizing it was there, she bumped into a big mithril and steel gate. She heard voices in the sky and thought she was going crazy, then fainted. The next morning Naran woke up in a nice hospital, which smelled like herbs. She got out of bed and walked outside, where she found herself in a big city full of circles. Looking down, she found 4 other circles below her. Deciding to explore, she walked down through the circles, curious. She walked slowly, since every single circle had something spectacular to meet with her eyes. She couldn’t believe how big the tower of the theater was, nor could she believe that there could be such a big library anywhere on Middle Earth. Arriving on the Second Circle, Naran got lost in the many markets there were in this circle. She wondered how the people here could have so much money, as she saw the money constantly change hands. Finally, she arrived where she had wanted to. The First Circle. There, she saw something that caught her eye more than anything else she’d seen so far. A building, with a sign reading ‘Rangers’ Headquarters.

he had already heard about the Rangers of Gondor during her travels. People had always asked her if a Ranger was what she wanted to grow up to be, but she never exactly knew what it was. "Maybe I’ll finally have my question answered." she said to herself as she worked up the courage to go in and ask what a Ranger was. Entering, she saw a weatherbeaten man sitting at a table in the corner. Walking up to him nervously, she asked him her question. He smiled a little as he answered her.
When he’d finished, she asked if she could become one. The man, who she later found out was the Captain of the Rangers, Huan, told her that before she could join one of the divisions, she would have to first become a Trainee, then a Scout, third, a Heavy Infrantryman, then finally an Armsman. He asked her which division she would like to be in once she had passed each training stage. As she didn’t know what the divisions were, she asked him, and he told her. When he’d finished, she chose to be a Rider. She had always dreamed of having a horse of her own and being a rider. She was overjoyed when her name was added to the roster of the Rangers. She moved fairly quickly through the ranks, and soon became a Rider of the Rangers of Gondor under Anna Greanleaf, Treyan Andúnë, and Auriemmalene, with her horse Morwen. That is the story of how the girl named Narsil_Anduril, Naran for short, came to Gondor and became a Ranger.
