    Hanna Banks

Hanna had been planning to tell her story for a very long time, but she had been born with a strong lazy streak, and thus was partial to having an ale too many and forgetting to put pen to paper.

Anyway, it all started when she was born. (Doesn't it always?) Born to Hegfield Banks and Daffodil Clock, she took her first look at life from a comfy hole on the banks of the Brandywine in Buckland. An only daughter, Hanna never wanted for company for her cousins Ned, Ted and Fred (sons of Harry Banks and Juniper Brandybuck) and her other cousins Bill, Will and Gill (sons of Holsted Banks and Merryweather Chubb) were but a hop, skip and jump away down the river. She thus led a charmed childhood, as much a young lad as the boys, climbing trees in the Old Forest (much to the distress of their elder relatives), fishing for tiddlers in the river and munching fiddleheads by the bucketload. She dressed in the overalls of her cousins and kept her unruly auburn curls short - just as well, for the amount of twigs and leaves that could generally be found sticking out of it meant that really, if it was longer, it would be a great disaster.

All in all, Hanna would have never learned anything and would have contentedly stayed in Buckland, climbing trees and grazing knees forever, if it wasn't for the arrival of her dear Old Uncle Halfast Banks - a rosy old gentleman with a fondless for whiskey and story telling.

Truth be told, he was a right old rogue. Half of what he said was made up and the other half was exaggerated. But somewhere, deep in the layers of the story, there was a grain of truth, and one could clearly see that Old Halfast was a well travelled, well adventured man. To a young and impressionable Hanna, he was the most modern and interesting person she'd ever met in her young years. He taught her her letters, and all manner of stories and before long she was reading and writing with a fluency even old Master Baggins over in Hobbiton would be proud of. He also taught her the fiddle - a skill Hanna excelled in. Many evenings the strains of her folk songs could be heard wending their way down the Brandywine.

Between her academic education (however interestingly dealt) and the cooking and gardening skills imparted to her by her mother and father, Hanna bit by bit grew up. She has a stocky body, measuring two feet eight inches in height and curls which never stay in place no matter how many pins she jams in, and bright green eyes, always looking for fun and adventure (or the nearest alehouse, which ever she finds first).

In later years, she moved to Hobbiton, and found its inhabitants both charming and friendly. Apart from a brief sojourn to the Riddermark (where she both terrified and impressed the inhabitants with her prodigious appetite - leading to a situation with one Iarla Donn who threatened to call the Shirriffs of the Shire on her), she is happy where she is. She lives in a little green thatched cottage in a wooded dell a short distance from the village, and grows roses at the gate. Her fat little spirited pony Dusty spends his days galloping for short distances around a field at the back of the cottage, and her little black cat Spooky washes his face on the window ledge.

Hanna likes to go down to the Green Dragon, smoke a pipe, drink all the men under the table and tell wildly fanciful tales of her travels. She sometimes travels home to her parents and cousins - they are happy to see her, for she brings samples home from the Brewery she works at from time to time (when she can be bothered to go). She is happy and healthy, and a true hobbit at heart. As they say, it is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life!

    Hugo Brace

Personality: Hugo is a very kind hobbit and can be a little two forgiving. He his great to be around and usually carries a smile, but, as his friends are aware there are times he can be moody and very serious. He is very adventurous and loves the outdoors. He spends alot of time camping with his close friends. He will often tell his friends he is not afraid to fight for his kingdom and he would be loyal.

My Father: My father was called Paladin Took and had brown hair. He was also very adventurous and enjoyed the outdoors. He has blue eyes and was very loving

My Mother: My mother was Rose Brandybuck and had blonde hair. She was not adventurous and spent a lot of time in the house. She was a happy person that worked in the clinic helping the old and dying

History: I, Hugo Brace was born on the 29th of Winterfilth in the Buckland. I was raised by his parents and was helped along by my older 3 brothers. Ted, Sam and Dernhelm. They were attacked by wargs when we went to Bree one year when I was four. I lived the first 5 years of my live in a lovely old cottage in Buckland. The house was well looked after and felt like paradise to my parents. We had fine neighbours and I made a habit of sneaking into Mr Maggot's fields for vegetables and mushrooms. I seldom got court as I was superb at blending into my surroundings. We lived happily for seven year until my mother died without warning. We are still not sure how it happened. My dad was heart broken and my world came crashing down. I cried everynight for months on end and found it hard to continue. I was rude to my dads friends and angry at everyone. The memory of my brothers deaths came back to haunt me. We had to move away so he could repair our mind and souls.

Me and my dad moved to Bywater to be near our other relatives. At number two Bywater way I learnt how to survive and fish on my own. I also met one of my best friends there. His name was Rook Barkwater and we shared everything together. We have helped each other through many tough times and will always stick By each other. We often were messy and adventurous, much to the disaproval of the eldar Hobbits.

Now 11, I wanted to explore the world. I travelled to Lorien with my dad and meet a noble Elf called Legolas Green whom I also have been friends with since then like Rook. I also travelled to Rivendell since then where I meet some amazing people like Sir Elrond the master of the homely house.

When we got back my dad thought is was time to move on. I agreed and at the age of 15 moved to stay with a wise hobbit Eldar and Storytellar called Balfasar. Through him I have learnt much folklore, woodlore and stories such as Gil- Galid and The last alliance. He helped me find a place to stay and I owe him alot. I often visit him when I am down and he gives me advice.

When I moved into the Hidden Cottage with Rook my life got alot better. There were hobbits near the same age as me, 19, and they were interested in the same things. I have made lots of friends like the fine hobbit maiden Miriath Banba and Elf Muniel. I have been promoted to Brewer in the Strawberrystar Brewery and its a job I really enjoy.

In the HDS I had an accident. I was running away from an enemy and fell over a cliff. I broke my right arm and some of my ribs. During that time I found it hard to breathe but my friends helped me though. I am now known to some people as Hugo , the famous cliff jumper. I love the Shire and my friends. I am 19, young and want to make the most of my life. My dad moved back to Buckland and is now a grand age of 111.
