Yavanna Banks

Hugo Banks and Dora Goldworthy are my parents, but of course Goldworthy was my mothers madden name, for now it is Banks. They were not like most other Hobbits, they liked to go places and do many things, both dangerous and fun, when newly wedded. Why before they had very many children they moved all over Middle Earth like no other Hobbit has seen done before, or at least that is what I have heard from my father. Who tells his children so often of the things they once did, and of places we don’t remember we’ve been, because we were much too young. Hugo and Dora loved one another very much, but as many of you mums and papas know, it’s takes much more then just “love” to handle a big family.(or so I’ve been told) And somewhat of a big family we did have, well... there was eight of us children. I, am the youngest of them all. My family at the time was planning to go to Bree and live there till the time seem right to move elsewhere, then they found out I was on the way. I’ve been told, mum and papa wondered if they should move to Bree, with her being pregnant and all. After much deliberation they decided the Banks family would stay in the Shire for the safety of the coming baby. My dear mum was told I was to come on the 14th of Winterfilth, or near that time at least. Days and months passed, the baby would be coming in almost four weeks, as the doctor said after many visits to mum who called for him so often. She wanted him so very much to say that the baby would be coming very soon, but he told her, her wish wouldn’t come true for another four weeks, at the least! Well I do think mother was quite ready to prove the doctor that he was wrong. Three weeks before I was supposed to come (the 14th ) mother became restless during the nights, so to all of the families delight (the youngest most of all) papa said they could stay up and hear stories of long ago, that way mum wouldn’t be alone all throughout the long night.

I’ve been told from my brothers and sisters that all throughout that week they found out really how much papa knew, of Elven lore, songs, and stories. Even my mum was quite shocked at just learning it. I have also been told that it was the best week they had gone through. Staying up late, listening to stories till one by one they all fell off to sleep, waking up late in the morning and eating throughout the day. Tis a pity I was not already born at that time, for I’ve been told it was very much fun. Well mum got her wish, I was born fourteen days early, on the 1st of Winterfilth, in the Eastfarthing in the Shire! Now as I have said papa told tales of elves, and things pasted the week I was born. You might think this is not important, but it is. For it is how I got my name. Mum, papa, and my siblings had all decided to name me Autumn, but during that week of tales and songs my mother felt somehow that I (if a girl) should be named Yavanna. She was very ceratin of this, no one else could understand why she insisted the name change, but they heartily agreed.(for who would deny and upset a mum at the end of her pregnancy, the result would be too awful to behold) Autumn is now is one of my names, but many don’t know it, I’m just mostly Yavanna in the Shire. I was born at lunch time! Quite a time for me to be born, I guess I’ve always had I nose for food! I’ve been told from my sister, that papa was frantic with nerves when mum told him I was coming that very moment. It makes me laugh at that thought.

The child grew, and now at the age of her tweens she goes out into the Shire. She has made many friends and goes often to The Hidden Cottage, where she met Rook Barkwater, Kaetlynn P.F, Miriath Banba, Baragunde, Mairuanna, Saemundurr07 and Muiniel . They all have become good friends to me. I do know that I probably have miss others, and I’m very sorry if I have. I also have some jobs in the Shire as well. I hope this can help you know me better. Though short it may be.
