Hobbits are what makes the Shire a special place! We come into many activities and important duties that we must uphold to our fellow Hobbits and other various Middle Earth creatures! There is much work to be done and not so many willing to do the jobs in need! There comes a time in recognizing the ones that make the Shire the most wonderful place in Middle Earth! It is so easy to come to the Shire and to enjoy the wonderful and fun adventures that we have here! Sometimes the greatness and the worthiness of the Hobbits to receive a Special Ranking. Those who do not have it, envy it! Those who carry it, use it! Those of which would like it, will strive for it and for those of us who see it, will respect it! With that being said I give you the honorable Hobbits of the Shire who actually deserve it!

Lately, the TA has been engaged in many outdoor practises.
Your reporter spotted them while going on a hike through the Green Hills, on their way to a secret location. It seems that many were prepared for a long walk, and a whole cart with practising weapons was taken with them...
After following them secretly (yes, they are good enough to notice me, but they decided to let me be), I found out that they were going to camp in a valley near Woody End.
The day after, a small group of TA members left, giggling and carrying weapons with them. The other group remained, to prepare a good meal for after the excercise. I still had no idea what would happen... until all of a sudden war was apon me!
The group that had left first, were hiding behind bushes, in trees and in the tall grass, preparing an ambush for the others. Lun, the Elf, was the first to be found, but he managed to escape, as did Manwe.
Then Captain Ea gave the sign to charge, and a very well going fight started.
As I send my dove away right now, the battle isn't over yet. Few have been "killed", which is done by taking a ribbon from the arm of the enemy. Most TA members show excellent fighting, which will make sure that this day will last a bit longer!

Music of the month!
The Shire fire is a place where hobbits can play music and share their love for it. THey are able to show off their skills by playing in the band or singing in the choir. When you first enter the Shire fire you are met by the most wonderful music and songs.
They are currently working on a piece called: 'As time goes by'. 'As time goes by' is a very mellow, jazz watlz. The song, while being romantic and slow paced, is still up beat and bouncy
Walking around the Shire fire you get a sence of closness from the hobbit. They are all talking or playing the insturments. Just sharing there love of music.

Stage News! Since its inception early on this year, the Shire Players Theatre has grown into a fun and exuberant organization that will entertain the Shire--and the whole of Middle Earth--for ages to come.
The Players troupe, made up of a diverse cast and crew of elves, wizards, Hobbits and even dwarves, already finished its first full production, The Crystal Heart in mid-spring. They already move to finish its second, A Love Immortal, before the end of this month. Their Shire Players Pavilion home also now stands as a proud castle near Hobbiton's social square so that everyone can see the plays after a long day, and get a good entertainment in!
Very soon, audience members will even be able to meet the cast and crew for post-production dinners and get a glimpse of the Players' crazy mad house for a backstage. Emotional directors will finally calm down and greet you, and the tired actors and actresses, hairstylists, propsmen, and technicians will relax with you over a good plate of good Shire food.
The Players are also already working fervently on their third production, and they hope for another successful performance. They can't wait to make you laugh this summer, so don't forget to drop by after another day of your hard Shire work!

Weather Forecast
By: Brandybuck
Observant hobbits may have noticed that the weather has been unusually wet for this time of year. Although the sun is shining brightly today, the temperatures have been quite low compared to previous Shire summers. This cold weather pattern is expected to remain with us for at least another two weeks. More showers are expected in East Farthing continuining the soggy conditions already present in that region. Hobbits in North Farthing should take care for a thunderstorm is predicted in the next week. If you live in North Farthing and have plans for outdoor activities please postpone your plans until the storm has passed. Those in South Farthing have nothing to worry about. Only light sprinkles of rain are expected. These cold, wet conditions are expected to clear off soon. The weather forecast predicts a month of cloudless skies and sunny skies next month.
