For some in America, the celebration of Thanksgiving includes a tradition. The image of a turkey is made from construction paper and the individual feathers are cut from different colored paper. On each feather is written something the person is thankful for. On November 23, 2006, Trillian (Saruman) opened a thread in Isengard for all Istari to come in and give thanks for those people who had made a difference. Here is what the Istari had to say.

I am thankful for Ultchuk. His wit, wisdom, and wisecracks make me laugh, keep me on my toes, and remind me of why I came to Isengard in the first place. He is one of the first Istari to ever talk me me and I will never forget seeing him in the Bizarre Bazaar at Pall and Cam's Place or the first time he gave me OG.
I am thankful for Grey Pilgrim. She is one of the nicest, most creative Istari I've ever met. Whether playing with her in a pub, working with her on an activity, or just chatting with her, she always manages to have an amazing amount of fun while still getting things accomplished. There is no one quite like her in all of Middle Earth.
I am thankful for Melaiawen. Her hard work and dedication to improving the HIE is absolutely admirable. I have never seen a better editor. She is also an amazing friend, and someone who I truly feel I can talk to about anything.
I am thankful for Loremisstressre. Her goodness shines through in all that she does. She is always willing to lend a hand, she always manages to find a compromise, and she tries to ensure everyone feels important. As one of our oldest members, she still manages to find time for the newbies.
I am thankful for Nylara. I have known Nylara for years through various plaza activities. The Sadrils, StarQuality Designs, Pen Pals, and too many other activities to mention brought us close. As my co-ruler, she was the perfect yin to my yang.
I am thankful for Searogim. Her amazing enthusiasm and work ethic have made her one of the most exciting and active Istari around. She is a well of creative ideas and focused energy, and she has used both to create and run new activities. I am truly enjoying working with her as my co-ruler.
I am thankful for ShEru. As one of the Istari that most impressed me when I first came here from Valinor, ShEru has always been on my radar. Her creativity and wackiness make her one of the most fun and exciting Istari; while her dedication to making Isengard the best it can be keeps me on toes and constantly looking for ways to improve.
I am thankful for Daywalker. His name changes really make me think.... There are of course many more reasons than that for my being thankful for him. He is also an extremely dedicated Istar, who does all that he can to ensure that Isengard keeps running. A true wizzie at heart, he always comes back to Isengard after his journeys to other kingdoms. I consider these his vacations from the amazing amount of work he does here, which I am so very grateful for.
I am thankful to Firefly, Elessea, Elerina, Kingoduckingham, Shademar, O Illuvatar, Pallando the Blue, hellknight, Nethron, Redhawk, Simpsonim, YaWorm, Curunder, Maglor Seregon, DinUinen, Mac Giolla Dhe, Darth Enalan, The Fifteen, Exxod, for each and every one of you who come here everyday and make this place what it is. I have been here for over three years, never moving to another kingdom, never leaving for extremely large chunks of time, and the reason I have done so is because of the wonderful people here and the fun I have in Isengard.
I am thankful for so many who have entered the Void (or at least partially entered it). Camino, who really was the first person to truly welcome me to Isengard and get me involved in activities. Elen Sila, Mirluin Ererana, and Wedgie, three people who challenged me to be creative and original in my posts, with a true blending of reality and Middle Earth. Pallador and Palamorn, who made me strive to donate as many books and OPDs to the library as I could. Moneta, Dume, Thal, and many others who influenced me.

One feather I’ll pin on the turkey is for Loremisstressre. Since Missy walked in in the Isengard Library thread when I was still Head Librarian (there’s a very old thread!) almost three years ago and delivered her book we have stayed in touch by mail. For most here in isengard she is a mother, I know, but since I’m about the same age as her she obviously can’t be that for me. She will tell me (most don’t know that) I reacted too grumpy or too harsh and and will tell me what I hadn’t thought of yet. Or will say ’hush hush now, you Balrog!’ And mostly it’s better the day after. So the ring she got last month as SCR was wel deserved as she is a gem.
Another feather is for Lali. I always liked Trillian very much and she knows very well. I do know I annoy her sometimes(often) and she will get a bit angry at me when I say things pretty to the point and in heated discussion or I try to get the 'blood from under her nails' (Is that an English expression as well?), especially now she is Saruman. But then I will admit to Lali when I was wrong so that’s why usually I can get along with her very well. But I told her already some time ago that I find her one of the best rulers I have seen in Isengard (about a dozen or more!), but I do think now definitely she is the best I have seen in Isengard!

I am thankful for YaWorm. She was a great ruler and she was a ruler when I came to Isengard. She is funny and helpfull and friendly. She is loose and doesn't take things seriously as people tend to do and she understands me completely and if it wasn't for her as a ruler and for her warm welcome and friendship afterwards , who knows if I would have stayed on plaza or be active as I used to be... and am now.
I am thankful for Searogim. She has been a great friend from the begging and I have enjoyed each and every one of her games. She is a very friendly and warm person and I enjoyed convincing her come to Isengard ** Since she came here this place has been more alive and filled with things and threads I like most - games. And although she is ruler for only a short time I know she will do much for Isengard.
I am thankful for Loremisstressre. She is like a mother to us all and she is probably the goodest person ever to walk Isengard. Her extreme compassion and understanding is just overwhelming. Her happiness just pours though Isengard and her love for this place is just stunning. I think that if anyone should be thanked in the name of Isengard in whole it should be her.
I’m thankfull for Monnie. When I first came round to Isengard she was Saruman so there was like a distance between her and me casue she was so much older and was a ruler and I couldn’t speak to her openly and IM her and so on because I tought..."Ah, she’s a ruler and I’m a newbir...she must be busy..." and so on and so on. But with time I started to relax and I kinda felt that she understood me. She tolerated my posts and understood I’m not spamming and she understood I’m a cheerfull person and she understood my humor and I felt...so excepted. Afterwards we got to know eachother a bit more over MSN and she has really made a big mark in my plaza life... as ruler and as a friend. She is still my favourite ruler although many other good once were made after her
Who is next after Monnie but DUMENELION!!! They kinda come in package... atleast they did when they were active. Dume was kinda the first person in Isengard that I considered my real friend. I think I met her in the pub... that is, I started talking to her. She is kinda the same case like with MOnnie. I felt understood and it was always so fun with her. And I always loved to talk to her be that on plaza or MSN... You really made my days in Isengard happy and I really miss you, you can’t imagine how much
DAYWALKER!!! Ah, Blade my old finnish friend. You were right there next to Dume although you are totally different...from me and Dume, atleast from my point of view. You were not that quick to laughter and you always too things more seriously and ’mature’ so to say *btw. I couldn’t believe it when Dume told me her age *. You really aknowledged my work in Isengard and said that publicly and I was like...proud. Then we met at your house and I was still fileld with ideas (remember the Welcoming pub? ) and we started talking and luring people to your house and making then transfer to Isengard **...there you met Sea... and in the One Ring. Then we both made you get MSN... Oh those were laughs. You were always there for me and I’ve worked in so many things with you and you have alway supported me and stayed my friend and for that I am deeply thankful.
Maglor! Who knows where I would have been if it wasn’t for him. I came as a lost kid here in Isengard, stunned by the size of this place...I was never before on a forum, I never did hang a lot on my PC before. So, how did I get around so well. I asked somewhere if teher was any croats here in Isengard and he introduced himself and then... I just followed him around. Whereever I saw his name appear as the last poster there I would go in and that way I found out we have similar taste. I just got involved in whatever he was involved in and that’s how I started to go around cause you know...plaza is really hard to get started with...you don’t know where to go first. If it wasn’t for you my friend I would most probably just turned of my internet explorer and that’s where it would have ended. So the whole plaza has you to thank for having me. *how egoistic of me *
Galadvaliel! I could not possibly skip you in this Gala. You were my first plaza wife and I own you many, many happy days on plaza. I still remember where I met you... on (then your’s now ours) son’s Party. We started dancing and everything... it was all IC for a few thread and then we went off. It was such a wonderfull plaza marriage but then I stopped RP-ing and slowed down with plaza and...well , we know the rest of the story but the important thing is. I am really thankfull for those days in Isengard I spent with you
And of course Ravion, my plaza dad who has been of quite some time... but I don’t have to say anything special about him. He was more RL friend to me then plaza.

The first feather I’ll pin is for Searogim - during our time running the minigolf together, she more or less thought me how to run a thread. When I want to discuss something about another thread I was running later on, I can always catch her on msn, and discuss it with her, even before she was a ruler.
The second is for Grey Pilgrim, for her help in the past in working out my character history, and just for being who she is.

I would like to pin a feather on Searogim. Sea has always been there when I need to talk, real life or plaza life, has kept me on the plaza when I have felt like leaving. She has been an amazing friend over the past couple of years. I love the fact that she is utterly insane and denies it like crazy, but also smart and fun and amongst the most stubborn I know. :P How very lucky I have been to meet her and call her a friend.

Ult - Since the day I met an irascible Balrog turned Head Librarian, I’ve been hooked on Isengard as a kingdom and destination, and not merely as a wizzie character...were I to tell all of what you mean to me and this place, I’d be accused of stretching the thread...but, well, it’s all true! And as we are only a several months apart, and I am Mommy to most of the rest, that makes you their old Dutch Uncle Ult!
As for the rest of you, let me say this...I read comics sometimes, the fancy ones they call graphic novels, by some of the best in the business, and I know a lot of obscure literature like that...the reason I bring it up is because once I read a strange little mag, about a space traveler who came to a future Earth to beg for help for his planet (and the traveler was a hominid dog...yes a ’mog’ if you will), and as he is befriended and given the help for his mission, one of his human friends is killed, and in a letter to that friend, the traveler writes that he thinks that the people you love should become part of your name, as they become part of you, and so as each person and their network of friends and family grew, so would one’s name grow to reflect that, so that no one would ever be forgotten...a very Entish outlook on life. I am thankful for ShEru for establishing the role of lurker. I have always felt that I am one step away from that position, so it is wonderful to know that it is a legitimate status here in Isengard.
I am thankful for Kabidge (is he still an Istar?) for being one of my very first wizzie friends. I am thankful for Worm and Monnie for letting me drill with them too, in my early days in Isengard.
I am thankful for DarthEnalan and O Illuvatar for their unbridled enthusiasm in writing for the HIE (which has become my primary... err... only activity). And Narv, I wouldn’t consider you an enthusiastic contributor, but I am thankful for your amazingly humorous writing!! Well, gosh, I don’t want to leave out the others, so let it be known that I am thankful for Maglor and Day, too! (Do we really only have only two others non-ruler, non-editor wizzie writers? If I forgot anybody, please smack me.) (I didn’t forget you, Ult. See below.)
I am thankful for Elerína and DinDin for agreeing to help me out with the Elen when my dream team deserted me.
I am thankful for Sea for relocating to our crazy kingdom. You were an awesome addition to this place the second you took up your pointy hat, and you are doing a wonderful job as ruler. (I knew you would!)

I am so very thankful for Geepers for being the sweetest, wisest, most wizzie person I can imagine. You are so, so, so, so missed around here and on MSN. I hope that you are working hard and keeping those grades up!
And last, but most, I am thankful for Lali who is probably the only reason that I have remained in Isengard as long as I have. You have a tremedous gift for playing on my guilty conscience. I certainly miss the days when you had time to chat, but your work as Saruman more than makes up for it. Your vision inspires me. I’m thankful to Geeps who was Ruler when i first joined Isengard. She did made newbie feel welcomed and part of Isengard immediatly. When time went by, we became friends and we talked a lot on msn, chatting and also serious business and she always had time to listen. Her workload in Isengard also after her rulership was something that not many of truly understand. Thanks for everything Geeps.
I’m thankful to Arwe who also was Ruler when i joined. With Geeps they made Isengard feel like home for newbies. Arwe was always supporting to everyone, as well as a Ruler but also as a Admin. There’s not many members who can be referred as caring member. Arwe is one of those few.
I’m thankful to Ultchuk who was respected and maybe little bit intimidating member already when i joined Isengard. Now i can say that respect towards him has grown and that other thing is still there but in a good way. He is helpful and caring member. He is one of those few that carry this Kingdom on his shoulders. He gave me possibility to became more involved to Isengard by trusting me a job from Tower and we can say that it made me more social and active. So thanks to Ult i have made this far.
I’m thankful to Kabbage, our Drill captain at the time i joined team. With his Gandalf type of responses and advices he was the reason i started to love Drill. Also his work in Isengard and in OOA was something that we all should be thankful. He was there always ready to give his intelligent opinions about certain subjects around Isengard and Plaza. When he said something it was worth of reading. Many talks on msn showed me that why i’m thankful to Kabbage...he show what Plaza is all about, having fun.
I’m thankful to Lolli, other Drill captain and also OuCH leader when i got the place as a receptionist. As Drill captain she was always helping and supporting and made drillnewbies feel part of team right away. I’m thankful to her for that and i have tried to be as good captain myself. OuCH was great place to work and it made me friends with lot of different persons, doctors and patients and this also made this loner to become more social and nicer to people.
I’m thankful to Sea, my dear wife who is willling to talk with me daily on msn and listen my stupid jokes and my constant need for checking the wording in different questions and games etc. She has a big family and when we were married, i was also part of that huge Gerontius family and that gave me lot of friends. I could list million things why i’m thankful to her but i will tell that to her on msn.
I’m thankful to Lali for being such a great Ruler. From the moment she started as a Ruler she has constantly keep turning this Kingdom to better place and it’s glad to notice that it has payed off already. Also i’m thankful that she joined our Drill Team to defend Isengard’s glory.
I’m thankful to Tzimpsonim who has been in Isengard for some time now. You made such an impact to Isengard when you joined with your funny (yet full of knowledge) posts. You were first member in Echad i Sedryn and you’re still there even though name has changed to Underworld. I’m glad that you returned after you little break.
I’m thankful to Maglor. He joined Isengard almost same time than i did and therefore i feel that he’s one of my closest friends here. Infact, we are maybe the last of our ’time’, others have faded away but we two are still going strong. We talk time to time (well chatting *g*) on msn and i’m glad that Maglor was part of OuCH and made it last.
I’m thankful to all members of Isengard. Rulers of my time: Monnie, Worm and Nyles, all the members in OOA who are doing that incredible work for this Kingdom. All members of Drill Team (yeah..it’s not easy job and takes much time). I’m thankful to our newbies for choosing Isengard because in you is our future (uu..no pressure guys ). Everyone, thank you.

Suffice to say there are more than a few wizzles who I admire for either the intelligence or humour (often both) evident in their posts, and for their warmth, generosity and friendship. I am thankful for Trillian. I am sure that without her help my transition to ruler would never have gone so smoothly and that I would have made a complete mess of things. She has been such a great help to me, and never gets annoyed at the stupid questions that I ask, and ruling with her is a complete pleasure.
I am thankful for Simpsonim *kicks*. I have lost count of the number of insane conversations we have had over MSN, and you never fail to make me laugh. On top of that you are one of the ones that dragged me here, and for that I am eternally greatful. Plus, you are my favorite punch bag (that I kick instead of punch).
I am thankful for Maglor. You were one of my first friends when I came to Isengard, and still remain a great friend (I still remember those couple of days where all we did was talk on MSN and send each other links to Youtube).
I am thankful for Daywalker. I cant believe that we have managed to make it to our first anniversary after all the times we have said we would divorce each other, and I am suprised all the ’s I have used and constantly calling you Sweetie have never scared you away. I am eternally thankful for you bringing me to Isengard, as I know I wouldnt be here now if you hadnt persuaded me.
There are far to many of you to mention here indiviually, so I am also thankful for all the istari of Isengard. Each and every one of you contribute so much to the kingdom, and it is down to you for making this kingdom what it is, and the place that I love. Thank you for all the work that you do, and for making this kingdom a pleasure to rule.
