I am Laurentius Dragonbeard. My place of birth is long since destroyed and long since forgotten, as is my youth. I was stolen away from the only peace I ever knew at the tender age of 9, and brought to the tower of a great wizard. He taught me the secrets of the Istari, a then closely guarded order--not open to everyone like it is now. From the book "Monsterium Ex Acerbis" I learned to shapeshift, to create fire, and in doing so my brother who was taken with me was killed. As penance I left, still with an aching conscience and a dwindling heart. My wandering travels took me all over this middle earth, as I have tried to erase the stains of time and find my true identity all while masquerading as someone--or something--else. I eventually found myself in the black pits of Mordor, where I was twisted and tortured until I could clear my rotted soul of what haunts me still. I wandered about the kingdoms and forests in search of something. Along the way I befriended the few remaining dragons and even took a snake as a familiar. I still cannot tell if I have found a home, but I will remain until my name is cleared and my story is told....
