Dumenelion was a small part of the Ainur Minstrelry that was orchestrated by Irmo. This young Maia was kindled by The Imperishable Flame and wove dreams and imagination into the Great Theme that was to fill the Void. All who listened to the unison and harmony of the Great Music smiled as they heard Dumenelion’s Ting-a-Ling behind the Great Choir, as that day she wore her Jester Robe with the little bells sewn into the sleeves and hem, although she had the choice of her black or blue robe that day Dumenelion wanted to participate in the Music of Iluvatar. The day that Irmo waved goodbye to Dume as she set forth for Middle Earth he handed her a staff made of sweet smelling pine and Varda gave her a Moonstone that Aule shaped into the claw. As Dume said farewell to Cirdan on reaching Middle Earth she was met by a Black Stallion who said his name was Imagination. Dume can converse with all animals but unlike Radagast she stayed true to her purpose of bringing about the downfall of Sauron. She has never revealed her true name to anyone but keeps with the name that the Avari gave her in their secret tongue...Dumenelion. Dumenelion stayed amongst the Elves of the East harassing the Ulairi and helping others find their way back to the safety of the West. It was the Elves who fashioned her sword Quellerod. She took her leave from the Moriquendi with a heavy heart and vowed to return when all of Middle Earth beheld the light. Dumenelion took on the form of an old man and slowly made her way to the Ring of Isengard with her staff in hand and her trusty sword concealed under her black robe. She had learned her tracking and woodcraft from none other than Orome and although her journey to Orthanc was uninterrupted it was not without incident. Dumenelion came across a tribe of Nandor Elves, she stayed for many years practising animal husbandry and among other things learned to swim. She left with the host of Lenwe, son of Denethor and journeyed on towards Orthanc where finally she made her home on floor 28. Dumenelions door is ever open to laughter, she has hoarded many weird and wonderful things just for their novelty, some have been acquired by mysterious oppertune moments when nobody was looking...Dume, as she now cares to be called learned the ways of the Feef when she lived East and somehow her penchant for sparkly things has never left her, and the deep and many pockets of her robes hide a multitude of her errant harvesting. Dume wanders abroad intermittently, preferring to stay within the Ring of Isengard and the warmth of her Peers and friends. She loves to learn new things although some never quite work out the way she planned she can always improvise.

Midnight blue robes. The fabric is treated so that in different lights it appears deep green or deep violet too. Faintly to be seen are dozens of tiny golden circles on the sleeves, and every now and then there is a silver pentagram. Blue, green and purple are all colours of tranquility, which is something that is obviously very important to you. Your caring nature/ love of sweet things is this time brought out in the purple, and is also represented in the circles. Circles are also a symbol of inner unity, and you are content and at one. However, at times you can be fickle, as illustrated by your favourite colour, and your indecisiveness, and like of poetry, and this is reprsented by the silver pentagrams. And look - this robe flares out at the base, so its perfect for twirling in!

Having spent most of my time in Valinor at the feet of Irmo in the retreat of peaceful dreams, I walked through the golden light twisting it’s way through the trees all at once I sniffed the air, a delicious air, a fresh air...at my feet was a fallen bough, it was 5ft in height with a slight curvature near the apex, I picked it up and used it as a staff, from then on it has been my staff. It is of a dark wood and where there might be sharpness my fist has blended with the wood making it smooth and it fits only my hand, it still retains it’s sense awakening aroma and I have since learned that it is a Scot’s Pine, at the top of the staff and in it’s claw resides my Moonstone,a leaving gift from Irmo, the stone of rejuvenation, the stone helps enhance perceptions and allows one to make decisions that further one’s developement, it brings confidence and composure and it has all the colours of the rainbow including a healing white light, it brings tenderness to the fore and connects with one’s creative side. It is adorned with no runes, the only decoration my staff has is the imprint of my right hand and some nail gouges from the distant past.
