The voice remained as fair, and when it was time for genders to be chosen, and names to be named, the essence became a woman, fair in skin and with ever clear green eyes. Her hair was as fierce as fire, though her voice was melodious as water, and though she was a beauty indeed, a fault came again in the form of arrogance and vanity. Though for the most part, she was good, and named Saraeare, or “fire-sea,” for she was both fire and water at the same time, both quick to temper and yet easy to forgive.
For many years she dwelt happily in the land of Valinor, under the tutelage of Ulmo and befriending Arien, a kindred spirit. When the Darkening of Valinor came about, it was woeful tears that Saraeare said goodbye to Arien. Thus they were separated, though still their friendship continued, for the sun would show if she needed it too.
And again for many years Saraeare remained content, though a time came when she was bade to leave Valinor, under Ulmo’s wish. So she came to Gondolin, in the mantle of an elf. Her home was made in the House of the Heavenly Arch, and ever more was she vigilant to keep this city, which she fell in love with, safe. Here she was renamed Naurael, which still carried the same meaning as before, only in the elves’ language there, and it was there that she first found love. He was a nobleman from another house, and they were married, and thus Naurael’s vigilance, growing haughty of a city that she thought was her own, grew soft.
Thus came Naurael’s second faulting, for Gondolin fell, and her love was killed, though she was made capture, for Morgoth recognized her voice, and her power. It was then that her arrogance was again fed, and become a monster, for she became one of the Dark Lord’s creatures, a seductress with enchantment. In this time she stayed, until Sauron bade her to come to Numenor, and she did. She left, however, before the Fall, having played her part in a dark way.
Upon reaching the shores of Middle Earth, Naur found again something she had not found in a while: the voice of Ulmo, crashing on the shores. It whispered to her, speaking of what good she had. In that moment the sun shone as well, and she remembered her past, so long ago. The spell of Melkor was then lifted, and she had a strange journey then. For she walked away, alone, and through many woods, and over mountains, and across fields. Her walk put many things into perspective, and gave her much wisdom.
Eventually she found herself in an elven haven, that of Mithlond. There, she studied lore for hours on end. When the time of the Wars came, she offered her services, to try to make up for past wrongs. Her past was kept secret from all, and her manner became shy.
After the Wars, Naur retired to Isengard. Her manner is still very shy, though her looks are still sharp. She is very much into lore and in general leads a quite life, albeit occasionally interesting.

Naurael, being quite the colorful person herself, wears quite colorful robes. The cloth that she dons is of the purest blue, deep and yet bright, as water. It shimmers, however, with a distinctive red, which, when she turns the right way, seems to look as fire. Silver sequins are sprinkled throughout the outfit, and on the back there is a picture of the sun and fire intertwined in a soft green color. Her robes fit neatly, hugging her tiny frame, and are covered in various sizes of pockets, some large and some small. Redhawk designed these for her, and for that, as well as the detailed touches of the robes, many say that these robes are quite exquisite. |
Naur’s staff is as tall as she is, which is not very tall, all things considered. It is made from the finest wood, though one could not be able to tell that as the wood has been painted over with a sparkly red color that intermingles with a blue shimmer. It is exceedingly bright, but Naur likes it either way. The wood is carved such that the blue looks as though it is water flowing through fire, which is the red part. The focus of the staff, however, is not the top, but in the upper-middle regions. Inside the fire and water are three jewels, of the deepest green. Silver shards are found in these jewels, which look as though they are wrapped in the wood. It is odd, to be sure, but quite Naur’s style. |
