Yavanna, Queen of the Earth, called Nurdoriel to her one day as stood in the midst of her many growing plants. When Nurdoriel arrived, Yavanna told her of a vision she had seen. In the coming future of Middle Earth there would come a great time of need. Battles would be fought and many of the growing things would die. Since Nurdoriel had shown a great love of growing things during her service to Yavanna since the destruction of Almaren, she had chosen Nurdoriel to go and help during the time of need. So I traveled to Middle Earth shortly after the first five Istari. When I first arrived, I stayed in the deep woods. I felt at home there among the giant trees and the animals that dwelt there. I was content and happy in my isolation and it remained so for many years. This is how I acquired her name, which means Deep Woods Maiden in the Sindarin tongue. Upon occasion I had met Elves in what I considered my home and though there was seldom contact between them, I was accepted. Then I began to feel there were changes outside her woods and I began to take small journeys from my home. Upon one of these journeys I found Isengard and discovered that it was time for me to come out of my woods and go into the world. Now I spend my time working in the different kingdoms where destruction has reigned and where my skills as grower of plants are used. I also remember my time of isolation and my beginnings in Isengard. Those times were awkward as I had been isolated from other for so long. I remembered how welcoming the other Istari were to me, so I try to help others that are new, be they Istari or those from other kingdoms.

They are an unusual design. The style is not much different than an every-day wizard's robe, but the fabric is unique. Starting at the hem of the robe, the fabric is tinted in my favorite rusty brown color, but as the eye moves upwards, several lighter shades of this color accentuate the fabric, ending in a creamy off-white at the neckline and shoulders. This graduated color scheme is reminiscent of the veins in certain stones, or a cliff's edge where many layers of earth can be seen. Camino , how made the robe for me said, “You have a personality that is very attuned to Middle Earth and its treasures, more appreciative than most of the powers that can be found in a garden or with other species. Brown represents fertility and growth, and is therefore appropriate for one of your nature.” It is made of soft wool that is both warm but breathable and suitable for many climates. It is lightweight and comfortable, and so will not hinder my movements. Instead of a belt, a special clasp was designed that holds the neck of the robe closed. The clasp is a simple, polished piece of petrified wood, with different shades of brown and grey running through it and is affixed to the robe with sturdy copper wire. Camino said, “The overall effect of your robe is that you are a very thoughtful and peaceful wizard, one prone to generosity, healing and the preservation of our lands.” |
At a campsite while on a journey back from Rohan I found very old worn scrap of parchment. Upon it were written these words: The rod of ash, the fire's rune,

to know LOTR? |
When I was a young child, in the fifth grade, my parents decided that I was too old for spankings as punishment for my mischievous larks. Since I loved the outdoors even then, in their wisdom, they decided that restriction to my room would suffice. There in my room I discovered the joy of reading. It was not long before I happened on the Fellowship of the Ring and had shortly read The Hobbit , The Two Towers and The Return of the King . I have been an avid fan of Tolkien since that time. However, I think that my love of reading completely undermined my parent's intentions. |
