Oloronya has walked the thin line between good and evil more times than she cares to remember herself. Maybe this is because she originally was one of Melkor’s, a fire Maia, but forsook him when his ambitions became evident to her. One should think that a decision like this would place her firmly on the right side but her personal history proves differently. Maybe it is because she’s never really come to grips with her mortal body and the passions that inhabit it. Those passions were the reason for some of the most violent episodes in her life.
Istari were not supposed form relationships of an amorous nature, but mortal bodies have their own agenda. Oloronya fell head over heel in love with a mortal, a worthy man and mighty warrior, as she perceived it. For a time she almost forgot her calling as an Istar and her love blinded her to some of the most elemental aspects of right and wrong. She became a willing tool for the ambitions of her lover, Angohtar, and was led into a life by the sword; until the day when her eyes were opened to his treachery. That day she crossed the line and killed him, out of fury, revenge, hurt. It was only the human body, which kept her from becoming a balrog. And the child she was expecting. After giving birth to a boy, Elluin, she decided that she could not care for the child and fostered him to good people, hoping the child would not display any Maia powers. But if is should she intended to ask Valinor for the grace of having the child schooled there. In the meantime she took up a life of errantry, still living by the sword, but always seeking for a way back into grace. She had to go to the end of ME to finally come to rest. Under the tuition of Master Ko she laboriously found the peace of mind to look back and walk back into the life of an Istar.
But barely healed herself she suffered another grievous blow. Elluin had disappeared, his foster parents, the village, all trace was gone by the time Oloronya came back to look for him. She was unable to find any indication of what had happened and for over a century she believed that her son had died. Until he found her. The encounter was a violent one, Elluin full of anger and bitterness and with a burning desire to punish his mother for having forsaken him. Elluin himself possessed powers, like his mother, but his were weaker and in the duel he forced his mother into it was only by bodily force that he could finally conquer her. He almost took her life, but spared her, for whatever reasons and disappeared, again without a trace. Oloronya was once more unable to find any trace of him, and to this day she doesn’t know whether her son is still alive, whether he has engendered offspring, whether she, in fact, has a family. From that encounter she carries a scar in her hair, which has turned the strand of normally copper hair above her left eye to white. As a memory Oloronya now carries that strand much longer than the rest of her usually short cropped hair.
After the painful encounter with her son her errantring ways led Oloronya north. For a long time she spent her life there among the hard faced, wind beaten Northmen, counselling and teaching, until the call came to her to come to Orthanc. She left the North with the knowledge that its people were more than glad to see her walk away. They had suffered her presence, been awed by her power, and resented her influence. She had changed some of their ways, possibly forever, but on the whole she was sure that much of what she had achieved would be lost again. And still she walked away. For the first time since she was incarnated she felt that there was a place of her own, a place where she would belong. And as she entered the precinct of Orthanc she felt a change coming over her, a lightening of a burden, a rejuvenation. A new chapter in her life had begun. The past … was … past. She could lay it aside.

The robes are made of the softest suede in a burnt orange/red colour which suits your personality, this shows the two sides of your personality, the creative and intellectual side shown also by your love of sweet and your darker more headstrong side shown by your love of sour. The warm suede material will keep you warm on the mountains or by the sea where strong winds or sea breezes can chill to the bone. On the back of the robe is embroidered a large yellow quill, the yellow symbolises your intellect and the quill your skill with the written word. Around the hem are small charms in the shape of games pieces in honour of your status as games apprentice, these are sewn on with pale yellow thread to symbolise fun. The overall design is one of a complex mixture of styles, which come together in a retro-chic kind of style. Notable are the cleverly hidden pockets of all possible seizes, one thousand and one exactly.

My staff is particularly useful, because it has two modes. In slumber mode it easily fits any pocket, but in active mode it is of body length. I have to invoke it by simply saying ’ea’. To set it back to slumber mode I simply have to think ’áva’. A plain staff, without any decorations it is smoothed down by thousands of years of handling. Only the tip is reinforced with tilkal. Made from one of the first trees that grew upon Middle Earth its secret lies in the age old energy it contains. It works primarily as a strengthener and focal point of my own energy, funnelling it into one point. By itself it has the power to deflect energy directed against it so it is also good as a quarterstaff as any attacker suffers from his own strength of blow.
