OrcPork, as he is commonly called by the Men of Middle-earth, is one of the emissaries of the Valar who has journeyed across forgotten seas and distant lands to deliver the free folk of Middle-earth from the shadows of evil. In the West, he was known among the Vanyar and Noldor as Orpassė, though that name has not been uttered in the Hither lands since his arrival in the year 1002 of the Third Age. Instead he is renowned among Men for his proclivity in the procurement of fine foods and the practice of lore; having assumed the name OrcPork as a gesture of humorous intent from the King of Arnor, Beleg, in the year 1026 following his first and only visit to the realm. Practicing his culinary expertise in the court of the King during a time of jubilant revelry, Beleg was delighted by the preparation Orpassė had undertaken in the cooking of his favorite food; bacon. Despite his protests, Beleg and his esteemed guests insisted that most surely Orpassė must have laid some incantation upon the meats; as the quality of the bacon far exceeded anything the royal house had ever experienced before. One of the guests, in jest, prompted that perhaps the food had actual not been bacon at all but the unthinkable notion it had come from Orc. Had the feast not included liberal amounts of drink (and the antagonist having imbibed far more than his fair share!), Orpassė would have been greatly angered at the proposition; jest or no. But instead, he took it in stride as the table loudly applauded the joke and Beleg himself congratulated the Istari on his kitchen prowess saying "Hail and well met, visitor from lands afar! I do not know thine name but in the realm of Arnor and indeed were the news of our land reach the ears of all, from now until the end shalt thou be known as OrcPork, purveyor of fantastic food and ambassador of goodwill!"

Having finally after many adventures arrived and taken up residence with his compatriots at Orthanc, OrcPork (or Opie as he is also now known) has wholeheartedly embraced the virtues, ideals and tasks that his venerable and wise leaders Elen and Mirluin exemplify; as well as having a great working relationship with many other wizards in the pursuit of lore and benevolence extended to all the wonderful inhabitants of Middle-earth.

Opie is tall, even for a wizard. Standing at nearly 6 and a half feet, he often towers over many of those he converses with. Yet he has a subtle skill with words that quells the uneasy many of those who converse with him have upon their initial meeting. Opie’s tall frame is quite sturdy, but he is in no measure to be thought of as heavyset; rather he is quite muscular with a body chiseled by an unyielding regiment of constant exercise; he who hath a strong body is oft doubly rewarded with a strong mind! At times his hair has been quite long, though now it is cropped rather short and his face is free of growth, save for the goatee at the pinnacle of his chin.

Having reached his full height many years ago, Opie has long been adorned with a forest green robe which was gifted to him by the exceptional weavers who reside in Imladris, whom he has eternally remained steadfast with in friendship. The robe has seen the weariness of many roads and dusty paths, yet for all its history has remained largely intact; having only a few tattered areas and a slight discoloration from its original hue. The robe extends nearly to the farthest corner of Opie’s stride, yet only when he stoops down does it graze the earth and wild grass. A hood was sewn into the robe by an enchanting Elven seamstress and Opie, when he wishes to remain veiled while abroad in foreign lands, oft draws it o’er his head to retain his mystery and anonymity.

Opie has forged a sword of steel in the Fires of Industry but keeps it as ornamental piece rather than as a weapon. Instead he is far more often seen with his staff; a solid piece of ancient wood that was salvaged from one of the few Mallorn trees that has fallen. The entire staff was painstaking carved from one protruding branch of the tree and its durability has aided Opie in his adventures many times over. His staff is brown and has additional carvings all along its length; Runes that tell a story both of wear he has been and those he has called ’friend’ in his travels.
