Cerin Amroth

Cerin Amroth was the mound of Amroth, a former King of Lothlórien. The mound was covered with sward grass as green as Springtime in the Elder Days. As a double crown upon it, two circles of trees grew. The outer circle of trees had a bark snowy white, but had no leaves. The inner were mallorn-trees of great height, arrayed in pale gold. In the middle of the crown stood a towering tree, and amid the branches gleamed a white talan. At the feet of the trees, and around the mound the grass was stubbed with flowers. Golden flowers shaped like stars with the name elanor, and white and palest green flowers with the name of niphredil. Cerin Amroth is the heart of Lothlórien, and on this mound Amroth lived, before he was lost in the search for Nimrodel. But it is more than just the former home of Amroth. In year 2980 of the Third Age, at the evening of Midsummer, Aragorn son of Arathorn and Arwen daughter of Elrond came here to this fair hill. The grass here is undying words tell, and as they walked the grass that was full of elanor and niphredil, they looked to the Shadow in east, and the Twilight in west. At Cerin Amroth, Aragorn and Arwen, on that day plighted their troth. But there are not only good memories of this place, when Aragorn Elessar laid down his life in year 120 of the Fourth Age, Arwen Undómiel came to this mound when the mallorn-leaves were falling, and she laid down to rest. There is her green grave.
