The Port of Lothlórien

“And they [the elves] observed the winds and the air, and the matters of which Arda was made, of iron and stone and silver and gold and many substances: but of all these water they most greatly praised. And it is said by the Eldar that in water there lives yet the echo of the Music of the Ainur more than in any substance else that is in this Earth; and many of the Children of Iluvatar hearken still unsated to the voices of the Sea, and yet know not for what they listen.”
Ainulindalë, The Silmarillion

Being a curious folk who pride ourselves on being the masters of knowledge and experience, a contingent of us has decided to explore Middle-earth beyond the known realms in hopes of seeking new treasures and learning beyond that which is already known. Thus, being particularly fond of the sea, we decided the best and most efficient way of traveling is to go by means of boat.

Unfortunately, this requires a great endeavor, for the Lorien elves find themselves far astray from the comforts of the sea. Nevertheless, we were persistent. After pouring over countless maps and atlases, an outlet appeared. The mighty River Anduin empties itself into the Bay of Belfalas by the island of Tol Falas, a perfect setting for a harbor.

“This will take much planning and even more work,” said the counsels. “It is far beyond our borders and far from the Lady's protection, but…you may go. It will be a long road filled with many dangers and trials, and you must not take lightly your chances of coming back.”
The choice was made, and the finest, bravest, and most skilled was asked to aid us in our journey. Together we shall travel to lands unknown and across the seas so fair.
