Lava Snake Fighting League
Founded by bashtakh
The Lava Snake Fighting League (LSFL) is controlled by a ranking system. Points contribute to a snake’s ranking and there are two types of ranking. There is an individual ranking - points are gained for this from individual fights and individual tournaments. There is also an overall ranking - points are gained for this from individual fights, individual tournaments, tag-team tournaments, all-in-brawls and any other special events. Each season the points will be reduced and the snake will start with a small percentage of their previous season’s ranking points. This is to reward the successful snakes in previous seasons, but to also give snakes that performed poorly a real chance in the new season.
Individual Fights
~ Both lava snakes begin the fight with 10 hit points
~ You will get a choice between an A Roll or a B Roll
~ If you request an A Roll, you must then decide whether you want it to be attack or defense
~ When an attack A Roll results in a 1,2 or 3, you get the same amount in attack points
~ When an attack A Roll results in a 4,5 or 6, your attack misses your opponent
~ When a defense A Roll results in a 1,2 or 3, you get that amount of defense points
~ When a defense A Roll results in a 4,5 or 6, your defensive move doesn’t work
~ A B-roll is a random action roll on a 20 sided dice
~ A B roll is not attack or defense, it is just a straight B roll
~ When the outcomes of the rolls are posted the player must describe that part of the fight
~ When your lava snake reaches 0 hit points or less, he or she depending on the move, is either pinned or submits
~ To keep fights flowing also, there is a limit of three A defense rolls in a row
Example: I would call for either an A attack, A defense or B Roll
Note: While A Rolls are more certain and can result in quick hit points loss for your opponent, B Rolls include random action rolls for hit points loss, humorous actions (which may leave you defenseless and open to attack and hit points loss), and are very enjoyable.
Tag Team Fights
The rules of tag team fighting are pretty similar to single fights, however, there are some differences.
A team may change snakes whenever, and however many times they want to, except using a change takes a turn, and they may not use a roll. Only the owner of the snake in the ring at the time may call a change. However, there is one other way to call a change.
In tag team, there are the usual A attack, A defense and B Rolls. However, there are also C Rolls. A C roll is two of the other rolls randomly combined. It could vary from A attack + A attack, to A defense + B Roll. However, a team may only do two C Rolls per fight, and a C Roll only occurs at a snake change. So when someone calls a C Roll, the other snake enters the ring.
If a snake has been on the sideline for three rolls in a row, it will gain one hit point, six rolls in a row, two hit points, etc. This is mainly just to try to get more strategy into it, rather than just luck.
Only one person from each team is calling a roll, until they call a C Roll, or a change. If they call a change, the other person on their team must wait until the next lot of rolls to go. So the owner of the snake in the ring keeps posting until he/she calls a change or a C Roll. But remember, only two C rolls are allowed in each fight. A C roll is where, for example, Elberone is pulling Isembrulo out of the ring, and he calls a C Roll. Isembrulo might randomly get an a attack, and then Isuelt might get an A defense.
All In Brawls
Tournaments
Individual tournaments will begin straight away, and a new one shall start at the completion of the last one. Tag Team Tournaments will be held whenever the moderators feel like, and there shall be one All In Brawl per season. Tournaments provide snakes with many more ranking points than just individual matches, and they are also more enjoyable. The structure of a tournament is like thus:
Round One - Round Robin: Not everyone will play everyone, but everyone will get four fights, each lasting a week.
Round Two: The top eight snakes go through to Round Two. This is calculated on a win/loss ratio and then on a +/- ratio. This round is one on one, 1st vs. 8th, 2nd vs. 7th, etc. The winner of each game will proceed to The Semi-Finals. Each fight in Round Two lasts one week.
The Semi-Finals: The four remaining snakes have two separate fights and the two winners go through to The Finals. Each Semi-Final lasts one week.
The Finals: The Finals will involve the final two snakes and will last two weeks. The winner will gain maximal ranking points, and the title of Champion.
Each tournament has different points awarded and this will be specified at the beginning of that tournament. There will be four Grand Slams. They will award the most ranking points. They include:
The Morgul Master
The Battle of Barad-dur
The Orodruin Open
The Cirith Ungol Championships
The League
The LSFL is broken down into seasons. The season is finished at the completion of The Cirith Ungol Championships. Each season must contain the four Grand Slams, one Tag Team Tournament and one All In Brawl. It allows for more tournaments to be added to the season.
