Welcome to the ever-expanding encyclopaedia of the natural phenomena of Mordor -
Middle Earth's most exciting and diverse ecosystem! Written by the phenomena
themselves! Who can claim to have a better notion of the aerial capacity of
balrogs than a balrog itself? Or who better than a cave troll to enlighten us
on the trolls' fabled intelligence?
Moreover, we will also be adding some pieces concerning the geology of Mordor. Perhaps
this page would be better named if we called it "Animal, Vegetable or Mineral?" and
left you make up your own minds, but I suspect readers will have too much trouble
deciding what the answer is, especially when confronted by Cave Trolls or the dimmer
representatives of Orcdom...
All you who claim to be students of beasts, monsters and things
that go bump in the night, read within for answers to your questions about this
glorious region and its inhabitants. Here you will find lore and science
hitherto unpublished and, quite possibly, never imagined (unless in the wildest
fancies of a pipeweed-struck Hobbit...)
