A strange and wondrous form of life was discovered recently in, ironically, the Dead Marshes of all places. The Marsh Pad, or Marsh Snag as it is now affectionately being called, resembles a large lily pad, though it is perfectly camouflaged to suit the marsh environment.

It grows up to ten feet in width and has all the appearance of a moist patch of marsh grass, and altogether solid ground. However, as noted by an unfortuante member of the group, it is most unstable, and happens to be carnivorous. The poor orc’s foot supposedly sank into the ground, but upon closer inspection it was decided that it’s surface was actually a ’mouth’, which had opened somewhat to let the passerby’s foot become snagged. Further observation led to the orc being slowly but surely sucked into the ground, pardon, the belly of the beast, until he was no more.

As to a description of the creature and a warning sign, there is none. It’s camouflage is perfect, and indeed so if we have just now discovered it, though none too many have returned from the Dead Marshes anyway. For a warning, stay out of the Marshes or wear boots that come up to your thighs.
