Mirkwood Wargs
Mirkwood Wargs are quite similar to the wargs bred in Mordor. Located near Mirkwood and the Anduin River, these creatures are usually found resting on the field. The common Mirkwood warg is grey in appearance and have sharper fangs than Mordorian wargs. Their size varies greatly but the average Mirkwood warg were said to be the size of a large Mordor warg. The lifespan of an average Mirkwood warg ranges from 15-18 years. The Mirkwood wargs travel in a pact and prey on raccoons and any wandering Mordor moose that had enter its territory. The first warg to feast on the prey would be the pact leader and more wargs will gradually join in.
The behavior of a Mirkwood warg differs from those of a Mordor warg. Unlike the Mordor wargs, the Mirkwood wargs are reluctant to let any creature may it be men or orc, ride on them. Their pride is base on this concept. In the past, many orcs had try using them in battle but had failed miserably. The Mirkwood wargs listen and follow nobody except their pact leader. A Mirkwood warg would usually challenge for leadership of the pact when it reach the age of 12, the age when Mirkwood wargs are in their prime. When the pact leader dies, the rest of the pact would howl in honor of its death.
To elves, Mirkwood wargs are also known as Silvan wargs although this name is not commonly use.
