Water Algae, commonly known as pond scum, have been appearing lately in the Dead Marshes of Mordor. More constant accidents has been reported and many minions had been killed by these harmless looking organism. Blue-green in appearance, the water algae blends in well with the surrounding of the water. It is consider to be a carnivore since the water algae consume any living organism within its grasp. The water algae is deadly poisonous and contains a virus. Symptoms of this virus include skin irritation, sore thoart, muscle failure and many others that are too gruesome to name.

The water algae has been observed and analyzed by many minions and these minions speculate that the water algae may have migrated their way via the Emyn Muil. Some even speculate that it was not the water algae that were causing the death but instead, it was the haunting of the dead spirits that still roam the Dead Marshes. How these water algae came about in Mordor is still a mystery.

Many recent attempt for a cure had failed miserably. At first, the cure seem to work but after a short time, the water algae is immune to the cure. A campaign had recently been launched to find a cure that will instantly abolish this living entity that threaten the lives of the minions. For now, the Dead Marshes are only watched once in awhile by the Nazgul on their dwimmerlaik since the sentry of orcs there had to be relieved.
