A Spy report from Minas Tirith
Another for the spy-page. Of course I once again spied and wrote the entire thing out *Aiwendil sends a piercing glare at his slaves* Hehe...
While I was in Gondor, at Minas Tirith, spying on some war-related items, I took the time out of my spy-schedule to look in upon the weapons testing grounds on the south side of the city. When I got there, I began taking notes on a most unusual liquid which they were testing. At first I was skeptical about staying, I mean, what harm can a little liquid do to the armies of Mordor? I stayed on, though, because the people doing the testing were handling the substance very carefully, almost reverently, it seemed to me. Anyway, the scientists proceeded to take this sealed vial full of the liquid, about 1 litre I would say, and they put a long candle wick on it, and when I mean long, I mean about twenty meters long, which led behind a large wooden wall. Well they lit the wick with some tender and flint, and the opened up small slats in the wall, which they looked through. It took a little for the wick to burn all the way to the vial, but when it reached it, it was worth the wait. As soon as that little flame hit the top of the container, a violent explosion shook the room! Flames shot everywhere, the glass vial was blown violently apart, and the shards imbedded themselves in the walls. Well, I haven’t seen such a violent explosion from something so small ever! It was like a minirature Mount Doom erupting, I tell you! Anyway, after the smoke had cleared somewhat, the scientists went back to the scene, and from my position I could see a crater two meters deep in the rock floor. Let me tell you, that was an impressive scene. Just let me warn the powers-that-be that if this thing is produced in larger quantities, than the mountain barriers of Mordor just might become a small factor in an all-out war. And I assume that it could be used for a lot more purposes....
