This past weekend I flew down to Harad to check out what the big deal
was with them and as it turns out they are a really interesting group
of people.
They have the darkest skin of all the Mortals, their hair and eyes are
black. They use Great Beasts for battle and work. They worship one God
and pray to him every day at the same time. They use every weapon
imaginable, and are very skilled in many ways of War and Combat.
I followed the Harad Road until the desolation of Mordor ended and the
Wonder of the Desert started. The first thing to greet me were two
ivory-colored Towers with bright red banners draped from them and the
men in the Towers seemed puzzled at first to see a Flying Balrog with
wings of fire, but after a bit of talk they seemed most happy to
welcome me to their lands. Most of the men wore red and black. The
women were mainly covered up in black and only their eyes showed.
Their food was quite exotic, and very flavourful. They had all kinds
of animals that I had never seen before, like Horses with Humps on
their backs which they called "Kamules", and other animals that looked
like horses with REALLY long necks and spots all over them, known as
"Jeeraffus". The speech of the Haradhrim was ever-flowing and sounded
like a weird sort of singing.
To me the people of this enchanting land seemed to be the richest I
have ever seen, for they wore jewels on EVERYTHING. Men and women had
gold and diamonds in their ears, and noses. Gold rings, with diamonds
and other precious jewels in them. In fact even their beasts of burden
bore jewelry of the highest quality. They used such things as spice
and incense to fill their homes with the sweetest smells, and they
smoked their Pipe Weed out of something called a Hooka, which is a
large glass pot with a bowl on top, that pulls the smoke through
several tubes, so several people can smoke at one time.
All in all the people of Harad are very interesting indeed. They have
pledged their allegiance to Mordor in any time of war, and would value
an expansion of trade with us. In fact they named me the Official
Ambassador
of Mordor to the South Lands of Harad. Quite an Honor if you ask me.
I have brought back a hoard of gold to please the rulers of Mordor,
a herd of their trained Oliphaunts (with their keepers/drivers) for us
to use as an auxiliary brigade in war, and an armoury of weapons of
all shapes and sizes that have never been seen north of Harad.
In closing, the King and Queen of Harad say that The Witch Queen and
Sauron himself are welcome any time they wish to travel to the Harad Court,
which is of course their right as overlords, and the Haradhrim will
make a parade in their honor.
