The Riders of Rohan
Code of Conduct
Standards for All in Rohan
These are the few standards that will keep you in good standing with your leaders and your fellow riders.
First, and foremost: No Spamming. Any spamming will result in deletion and a reprimand. For further details, go to: What is spamming?
Secondly: No starting threads without permission granted by a Ruler, and even then, any excessive spamming or chatting will result in the thread's deletion.
Third: Please read the Meduseld FAQ and Plaza FAQ before asking any questions: You may find your question already answered there. For more info on the Cavalry, visit the Cavalry Page
Fourth, and with stress: We do NOT sell our horses. A favoured few friends may have earned a horse from the fields of Rohan through their valour or helpfulness, but we do not sell them. Any theft will be swiftly and irrevocably punished. Any threads requesting a horse will be deleted, after explanation.
Fifth: Read the first post (if not all of the posts) in a thread VERY carefully BEFORE posting. It will usually contain helpful information, such as the purpose of the thread and any rules involved.
Sixth: No bubblegummers or bubble-gum chewing. Any(even over Eomer/Eowyn!) will be deleted and redirected to the L****** Love Letters Forum.

Beware, lest you break these standards too many times and face your leaders' wrath!
(the page isn't done yet, keep reading...)
On the table before you lies a book. Opening it you find written out in Éomer's bold black script:
Complete Rules and Regulations of Rohan
(This page is under construction. See Riders Code of Conduct for more details.)
Section 1: Concerning General Behavior
--There will be no spamming! This includes gibberish posts, posts that have nothing to do with the topic, and posts ranting on with no point.
--There is to be no foul or offensive language to be used within posts. Posts containing foul language and offensive comments will be deleted.
--Do not insult other races/groups/individuals in hurtful ways. And remember, it is sometimes hard to tell whether some one is joking or not just based on a post.
Section 2: Concerning New Threads
--New threads MUST be approved by a ruler. You may ask for permission in the current Gaedrian (Gathering) of the Mark.
--If an unauthorized thread is started it will be deleted upon discretion of the ruler.
--Only High Counsellors or Counsellors may post in the unauthorized threads, IF a ruler is unavailable (see Section 6). This shall be ONE post, directing the thread starter to the Newbie Hall, Throne Room, and/or another appropriate thread. The thread may also be temporarily closed, until a ruler has opportunity to see the thread.
Section 3: Concerning Roleplay
Section 4: Concerning Certain Threads
--There are a few different threads that will always be around, in one form or another. In addition to these descriptions, there will be a list of rules in the first post of each thread. Make sure you read that thoroughly.
Subsection 4a: Newbies & Questions Hall
--New Riders of Rohan and New souls of the Plaza can introduce themselves here. If anyone has any questions concerning the Plaza and the Rohan Kingdom, these can be asked here. Any available Rider will answer them for you.
Subsection 4b: Throne Room
--The Throne Room is the place where all announcements from our Rulers and for our Rulers and the Meduseld populace can be made. It also serves as the place where anything that requires the attention of the Rulers can be brought forward, if it doesn’t belong in the Gaedrian.
Subsection 4c: Gaedrian of the Mark
--At the Counsel of the Mark the populace of Meduseld works on improving our Kingdom and brings forth ideas and thoughts for threads to be made and to see if it would be worth a place in the forum. Everyone can comment on ideas and bring ideas forward.
Subsection 4d: Pub/Tavern/Inn
--There are two pubs that will be active in Rohan: the General Pub and the Cavalry Pub.
--The Cavalry Pub for Cavalry members ONLY. It is a gathering place for the members to discuss, plan, and roleplay their Cavalry character. Please refer to the Cavalry rules and Cavalry Pub rules before posting there. Roleplaying here is much more formal and in character, and most of the time the conversation revolves around current happenings in the Cavalry.
--The General Pub is meant to be a place where people can relax and have fun. This does not mean that you may post freely. If you are only having a conversation with some one about non-plaza issues they will be removed, please use email to contact them instead. This also goes for strings of silly posts that have nothing to do with the original thread. Posts such as this will be deleted immediately, for they are spam!
Subsection 4e: Riddle thread
--In this thread everyone can participate in making and answering Rohan related riddles.
Subsection 4f: Cavalry Headquarters (Dragon Room)
--The Dragon Room is the place where all Cavalry related questions, discussions, announcements will be made.
Subsection 4g: Feranfolc
--The Feranfolc are the ambassadors of Rohan for other Kingdoms. They bring the most interesting pieces of the other Kingdoms such as the White Council, Minas Tirith etc. to Rohan so everyone who is interested at getting more involved with the other kingdoms can find something to their liking.
Subsection 4h: Bard’s Guild
--Open Session or Aebaere Geancyme: These are the audition sessions of the Bard’s Guild. Anyone who wants to become a Bard of Meduseld can come forward and audition in front of of the other Guildmembers. The results of the audition will be revealed at the start of the next Closed Session (see below).
--Closed Session: These sessions are for the Guildmembers only. Auditions can be posted, but no one will look at them or comment on them. Songs will be sung and discussed, along with any problems a Bard might run into.
Subsection 4i: Starfire Stud and Training Centre (SSTC)
--At the SSTC you may ask to breed your mare to any of the stallions on the breeding roster or if you have your own mare and stallion you may ask the Studfarm keepers to couple them. You can also ask the managers to train your horse, but you’ll have to state what kind of training your horse requires.
Section 5: Concerning Ownership of Animals
--No pets allowed that are not native to Arda, and even if they are, you must be sure that the animals were used as pets in Tolkien’s work. If they were not (like dragons for example) then they cannot be held as pets.
--Mearas: The Mearas are the horses owned by the royal house of Rohan. Only they have Mearas in their posession. Exceptions are when the royal house has deemed someone worthy of having a Mearas and have given such person one of their horses.
--Other exceptions: If you want to have a specific animal as your pet and it isn’t usually used for a pet, you have to have a plausible background story on how you attained this pet, and this must be approved by Éomer and Éowyn.
Section 6: Reporting Misbehaviour
--If a member has not followed any of the above said rules, report misbehaviour to the rulers first (or in the case of emergencies, notify the admins).
--DO NOT post after someone blatantly spams, this only encourages a response.
--If they have made a simple mistake, there is no need to be harsh or insulting. A gentle nudge in the right direction will do more wonders, and enhance the enjoyability of their plaza experience
If you come across any errors in the Kingdom Pages, email the rulers.
We welcome your suggestions! |
