Real Life:
Well, let's see, what can I say? I'm an aspiring author, so I write a lot of the time, but I also love reading and am rather picky about my books, so tend to buy my own copy and keep it in mint condition, which leads to a horrible lack of money and a large amount of books (over 200 and counting!). I live in the United States, way out west in southern Arizona, where I've lived all my life. Not quite built for this kind of weather, though: for some reason red hair and light skin doesn’t do well in high temps *g*. Hmm, what else? (It's so much easier to write about a character!) I love animals, and I live with two dogs, two ferrets and a cat. Don't really think there's much else to say, you'll just have to get to know me! I found the plaza while doing a Google search for LotR stuff on June 18, 2004 and have loved it ever since!
Plaza Life:
Ariziuh was born on June 18 to a Rohirric couple on the outskirts of the Riddermark. A bright girl with sharp grey eyes and auburn hair, she was a tomboy at birth. Instead of spending her time grooming or playing dress-up, she spent her days in the stables with the farm horses and her grandfather's old warhorse, Claeppan. When she wasn't with the animals she was in her grandfather's lap, listening to tales about his life in the cavalry, his crippling wound, and the haelend that had saved his life, if not his leg. On her 14th birthday one of the mares gave birth to a small, blue roan foal fathered by Claeppan. He was curious and sweet natured, and faster than the other horses even at his young age. He became Ari's, and she named him Arwe, or "arrow". At 16 she had turned into a young woman, and she and Arwe spent hours riding around the countryside together. One morning, returning from one of those rides, she could see black smoke rising in billowing clouds in the distance. Heart racing, she and Arwe galloped around the hill that would reveal her farm, almost gone now, engulfed in flame, her parents slain on the ground outside, her grandfather and the horses lost in the fire. It was on that day that she left for Meduseld, after burying her family. Upon arrival she did many jobs around the city until she had worked up enough gold to buy the equipment she would need, including her sword, Sceaduchorgle, and enlisted in the Cavalry of the Riddermark. Upon acceptance she was sent to be trained by Ele Isenfolme, an honor she had not imagined. It was on the night of her graduation and after the dreaded drought of Bilewitdox that she met Susy Dunami of the Eastmark. She trusted the woman immediately, seeing her as a mother figure in a place where she so desperately needed one. Susy adopted her into the Dunami family, where she gained a brother, Erling, and a sister, Lon. But only a few months after this happy time Susy was lost in the Southern Storm Campaign, her body still unfound. Still, she was not left alone this time. She had two huge families: the Dunamis and the Cavalry. After her 17th birthday she applied for the empty position of haelend in the Eastmark, and in what seemed like only a few weeks she was trained by Feawen and working with her new rank in the Southern Storm Campaign. It was in the same battle that she received her first battle wound, now a long scar that runs down her left upper arm. Quiet when she wants to be, loud when she needs to be, short in stature but making up for it in spirit and persistence, she is stubborn and opinionated, caring and friendly. She is Ari Dunami, Haelend of the Eastmark.
