My father, Bearnor, originally a man of the house of Eorl in Rohan was disowned by them. He choose to go to Gondor and join their army. In his good standing he was placed in a high position but never again could he fight for Rohan. When there was a disturbance in Fangorn, my father was sent to fight there. Upon his way back he was ambushed by a group of rebel orcs. They attacked him and he was left for dead. It was upon this day that my mother Theowyn of the house of Eorl, was sent to be betrothed to a most repulsive man near Isengard. Upon her way, she came across a badly wounded man (my father). She tended to his wounds until he was well but Bearnor found he couldn’t stand to leave her care. They soon eloped together and were wed in the country of Rohan with no ceremony. They were both to be disowned. They soon had a child, Geneva, who resembled a great warrior of the past, Calawen, her great grandmother. Near the forests of Fangorn and the river Entwash, Geneva learned riding skills from her mother and swordsmanship and archery from her father. Upon her sixteenth birthday Geneva received a symbol from her past. The mighty Gold Sweord of Calawen was given to her. For engraved on the sword it was said that a girl with hair of fire and eyes of cerulean glass was to fullfill the prophecy written in ancient elvish on the sword. It read "One ancient Golden Blade to slay all Evil". Geneva, strong and rebellious left her parents and her home and rode on her horse Loome to the House of Eorl. She came to prove herself and to save her parents’ names. The leader of the house of Eorl replied, "There is one thing that you can do to prove that you are worthy." He had a sly grin on his face and continued, "If you can tame the horse Raumo, your parents will be saved." With a face of stone, Geneva approached the wild beast and murmered the elvish on her Gold Sweord. Instantly the horse stood quietly and walked over to her. She hoisted herself up and rode bareback into the house of Eorl. The leader was shocked. You and your parents are forgiven. You must start training immediately, you will be a great leader. |
