Celinawyn

My name is Katharina and I was born in 1985 in Munich, Germany, where I still live. I am a student at the university of Munich where I am planning to graduate in food science. After I had seen the LotR movies, I browsed the internet, looking for some place to take a quiz on Tolkien and LotR, when I discovered Bilbo's quiz on the Plaza. Delighted I took the quiz and looked through the whole page some more and before I knew it I had registered as Celinawyn of the Riddermark, right from the beginning. I have been an active Rohir ever since, although it took me some time to jump into the kingdom activities. In my free time I like reading fantasy, historic novels, biographies, crime and thrillers, listening to music, from classical and Irish folk music to modern pop, watching movies and having fun with my friends. I play the flute in a brass band and I also teach young children how to play the flute. My interests are wide and I always like to travel to foreign countries, meet new people there and enjoy some beautiful landscapes. Did I mention I like posting on the Plaza? If not, I did that now. My Plaza life took an amazing turn when I was asked to step up as Éowyn, Queen of the Riddermark. This was a great honour and a wonderful opportunity for me which I fully enjoy. |

Now nearly twenty years ago Celinawyn was born in the midst of spring in a tiny village which lay nestled between lush green pastures and a small lake, not far from Edoras. Her father is Helmeth and her mother is Mædryn and Cel is their third child, as she has two older sisters named Glædyn and Dægræd. Celinawyn grew up in her parents’ cottage as a farmer’s daughter whose life was utterly happy, and well-protected. This rather idyllic childhood and youth came to an abrupt end when Cel had just turned fifteen. War broke out and her father, who had served in the cavalry for a long time was summoned to ride as a Sweordwigend of the Meduseld Eored. A band of orcs attacked the village which had been left defenceless. It was raided and set on fire. Not knowing where else to go since the family had lost everything in a matter of minutes, they decided to make haste to Meduseld where we stayed for roughly two years. In the meantime the war had been won and our enemies defeated so that the lands were safe again, so that Cel's family made plans to rebuild the farm in spring since many of the other villagers had also returned. From that moment on the whole situation brightened again, for Cel's family had a home once more. However, her heart was ever more restless. Her adventurous soul was yearning to leave home and she felt the need to learn how to fight properly on horseback, because she always felt guilty that she had not been able to protect her family's home. With her father's longsword Gefahuntian and her faithful horse Léafful, Celinawyn set out to train for the cavalry. After many month's of hard training, she was accepted into the Eastmark Éored as a Dryhtguma, where she served during the Southern Storm Campaign. Now in times of peace, Celinawyn constructed her own home, the Gesaeliglic Hám, where she lives together with her beloved husband Mor Rana. |
