Real Life:
I was born in Tolkien-country – i.e. Worcestershire, England – at the end of 1983. Seized by some madness, my parents decided to move to the frozen wastes of the north-east when I was a few years old, and I’ve lived, studied and worked in this corner of the world ever since. Poking around one of the general cheap shops we have up here, I came across a paperback of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and decided that it was a lot of book for £2’s worth of pocket-money, bought it, took it home, and loved it. I still have that copy, though it consists more of Sellotape than paper now, probably since it has been dropped in the bath on more than one occasion. I came across the Plaza searching for general LotR things after the first film came out, found the Bilbo quiz and things basically snowballed from there. Away from the keyboard, I like playing and watching football, listening to rock music, wearing my pirate hat, going to the cinema, travelling, and generally making a nuisance of myself.
Plaza Life:
Elarith comes from a small village in Westfold, a place rather removed from the bustle of Edoras. She has three elder brothers and one younger, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relations, most of whom still live in and around Caldwell. It is a family tradition that the second son joins the Cavalry whilst the eldest takes over the farmstead, and she missed her brother Léofric badly when he enlisted. After a few years, Elarith decided to follow him into the Cavalry, and moved to Edoras to fulfil this ambition. To get herself an income in times of peace, she took over the running of the butcher’s shop, Slitan Bur, and bought a modest house not far from the Riddermarket’s gates. She still visits her family when she can, but her home is now Edoras and her place within the ranks of the Cavalry she loves.
